I went with a friend we are both career women used to luxury hotels and spa breaks. We had previously gone to Pennyhill and to Clivedon this could not compare. The hotel is more like a conference centre and clearly caters to that market. Room corridors were horrid with nasty, stained paintwork cupboards on either side. As others have commented the standard rooms are over the carpark with showers over the bath with no handrails for safety. Our toilet would not flush and we were not offered the option to change to another room we had to call maintenance twice once at midnight and the following morning. The worst was the appalling dinner in the Stables we were seated next to a baby who banged his bricks and shrieked for the entire meal when there were plenty of other tables but all patrons were seated in the same area and we had trainee servers who forgot most of what we ordered time and time again. We had to insist on compensation for the bad meal which was given very grudgingly we got the impression the duty manager could not take this decision. The spa on the other hand was fabulous treatments superb quality experience but don't bother with the hotel is an excessively expensive miserable experience.

Room Tip: Don't book a standard room and for the money go somewhere else.

We visited The Grove which has been, and remains our favourite UK hotel. We advised the team that it was my Daughters birthday and we had a fantastic time from start to finish.
Great service from booking team
Great service from checking in team
Great service from all staff at the hotel
Great after care

Things to do

Eat in the Glasshouse - the food is amazing and a wide variety to choose from

Use the bikes to take a ride through the grounds and also to a local park where you can enjoy the facilities (play area / ice cream) little mini railway

The Spa - WOW......from a sauna to amazing treatments, this spa will blow you away

The Stables - after a great night out and eating in the Glass house, we always top the next day off with a lite bite at the Stables - the burger is great...

The Walled garden - if you have good weather, it is a must to spend the day relaxing by the pool, playing table tennis in the conservatory and enjoying the excellent poolside service.

Room Tip: If you have children ask for the bunk bed room, our girls loved it. But if you are looking for a roo...

We were lucky enough to be given vouchers to go down to the grove to play grove.

The course, of course was in great shape and challenging, a good round.

It's not really the golf it's all the little things that make it a good day out, vallet parking, slick organisation, support on the practise range, free bits and bobs on the first tee, great food, good organisation, (they know you are coming all over the building).

A great day, and for anyone who is a fan of golf and wants a treat, well worth the money.

Had a great time it was perfect mix of relaxation and good family time. Our little one had plenty to do with swimming and the beach.and we were able to feel like adults as well. The babysitting service worked really well as did the room with supplied with cot and toys.
Very hassle free and never felt the need to go anywhere else. We have already recommended it to other friends.

From start to finish this meal in the Colette restaurant was as good as We have ever had in the chateaus of France. The waiters were attentive and the cuisine was mouthful after mouthful of wonderful new culinary tastes. It was our 20th wedding anniversary and it made the evening really special.

Our afternoon Tea at the Grove was amazing!! We were treated like royalty, nothing was too much trouble and the delicious sandwiches, cakes, hot scones and pots of tea just kept coming. Everyone was really courteous, and although not cheap, it was the best afternoon tea either of us have ever experienced. I would recommend everyone to give it a try, an afternoon well spent.

Excellent service. Delicious food, that just kept coming. Lots of special touches for my daughter and her friends who were there for a small birthday tea party. I can't thank Daven and his team enough. The venue is stunning. Thank you!
