It was a delightful dining experience. The staff were courteous, kind and thoughtful. The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Perhaps the only negative comment is that it may be little over priced. We did not stay at the Hotel.

We live quite close to The Grove, so getting there isn't a problem and we booked for a wedding anniversary treat. We know the hotel a little and felt that booking in the newer West Wing was akin to a high end corporate hotel and therefore not really what we were looking for so decided to go for the Mansion Block. The service was excellet - we were shown to our room but didn't really want it as it overlooked the car park (noise factor) and had a roof section below it obscuring what could have been a great view....no problem for the staff who happily showed us 3 other equivalent rooms for us to choose, all of them diferent and beautiful. So far so good, the room we chose was spacious, beautifully furnished and had great views over the surrounding countryside.
Food is a diferent matter. The hotel has three restaurants, the formal and stuffy Collete's, the Glasshouse, which if you like a buffet approach is fine, but if you don't like the idea of constantly getting up to get your food that hasn't necessarily been freshly cooked to order then you won't like it; and the Stables, a more informal restaurant away from the main hotel. We dined here as we prefer a little atmosphere and prefer to choose our dishes (Colette's offers a couple of tasting menu's only and that's what you get whether you like it or not and it's quiet, very formal and you shouldn't go unless you like to talk in a whisper so everyone else doesn't hear you).
The following day we had booked into the Spa, which is terrific and everything you would expect. The black indoor pool is a joy and the only issue we had was that we didn't find out until just before we were leaving about the Walled Garden which has an outdoor pool, a sandy 'beach' area and 3 acres of beautiful, well tended gardens to enjoy.
Our conclusion (on the basis that we live so close) is that by far the best option was to book a Spa day, which includes treatments, lunch and access to all hotel facilities (including the Walled Garden) for £175 instead of the route we took which came to a eye watering £838 including dinner....
In conclusion, a beautiful room, excellent hotel service, fantastic spa and an adequate dining experience, but all with a hefty price that unless money is no object, is dificult to justify.

Room Tip: The Mansion Block is the only place to stay, but is expensive

Met up with friends for a day/night and seemed like the perfect place. Lovely greeting as we arrived and our bags taken and car parked for us. Great lunch at The Stables restaurant followed by a game of tennis and a trip to the Spa. Fabulous massage and a dip in the jacuzzi. Lovely setting and very calming. Stayed in Superior West Wing room....quite basic and nothing special for the price! Broken shower head! Did feel that the hotel corridors etc were a little tired looking. Dinner at Colettes was very nice....went for the "Symphony" menu. The staff were very attentive and informative about the wines etc. Breakfast in Glasshouse was delicious but did feel very cramped with tables too close together. Overall it was a very pleasant stay, the highlight being the staff who couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.

Great course , hotel , restaurants , and general atmosphere. A bit on the expensive side but was a very nice stay. The price point for a short stay would not make it worth going there more than once. My wife and I went for our anniversary without having to travel abroad. It was a great alternative but just as expensive as taking a trip anywhere abroad.
