Visited this gastropub on a balmy summer evening, the place is well hidden set in glorious surroundings. The welcome from the staff at the country pub was welcoming, the service pleasant and helpful. The menu is good pub grub nothing fancy just a good variety. All food is clearly fresh and the portion size to be believed, and all at very reasonable prices. We had the figs and chips enough on a portion for two.
We enjoyed it so much we booked to return at the weekend

Came here midweek on a sunny day. Sat outside garden is lovely. Looks great for family's in the summer (not many pubs have play areas and serve food) Pub is a lot smaller then we expected. We didn't order food this time just had drinks but had a look at the menu and looks very reasonably priced.
They did have a lack of menus only saw one laminated one at the bar that was quite dirty, And the chef had very grubby uniform considering the pub wasn't busy at all.

I eat in this pub frequently and am never disappointed by either the food or the service. It has a lovely garden for summer days and a roaring fire in winter. Had lunch with a girlfriend there today and can highly recommend the Cajun salmon!

Had lunch here with my mother and son who had just finished his A levels. We had a prawn salad, it was the most boring salad ever, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and a bit of red pepper and a heap of prawns like a 1970's salad, my mother asked for a bread roll, they said ''you will have to pay for it'' she would have done, but they brought her a piece of sliced white bread with no butter. We haven't quite got over how bad it was yet.

Visited this amazing gastropub on a Friday evening in July. Had booked ahead for a table for 3. If you didn't know that this pub was there...you wouldn't find it. Satnav is good and probably the only way. I live in Cumbria and my friend who lives within 5 miles of the pub (Croxley Green near Rickmansworth) had to ring up three times to confirm directions. Locals obviously know because there were a goodly number of people eating and drinking both inside and in the beer garden. From the outside it looks nothing...from the inside it is olde worlde and great!!! The menu in particular was good and the choices great. I had the Chicken Burger stack (two butterfly breasts) which came with chips and was huge. My wife had the prawns with chips..lovely and fresh...my friend the ham eggs and chips..lovely. Service was great...table ready orders for drinks taken..Peroni Beer on draught...food served in a timely way and table service excellent. I was impressed with both the quality, quantity and price of the food. No rip offs here. Find your way and you will not regret it!!!
