“The kids loved the animals and outside space and we loved the home comforts, the full sized snooker table and the views.”
Reviewed 4 April 2013 for a stay in April 2013

This is the best holiday cottage we've rented by far. The Granary is a large cottage for four with very comfortable beds and a very cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove. The kitchen is large with everything you need. The master bedroom is enormous with a super king bed and lovely views. The dogs are really friendly and there is lots of space for children to play freely. My husband liked the snooker table. This is a beautiful part of the world with lots of interesting places to visit by car as well as local walking. We've had a fantastic time and highly recommend it.

“Fabulous owners, location and amenities”

Full size snooker table in games room with good cues and full range of spiders and rests. Lovely cottage garden with wonderful planting and shaded seating with easy access from kitchen. Excellent beds and pillows with super-helpful owners, John and Alison, who provided jump leads from a neighbouring farm when our car battery died

Loads of great walks starting at or near the house, with an array of pubs to choose from.

Can't recommend enough - only advice is to take a sharp kitchen knife!

“Beautiful Cottage”

We booked this cottage The Granary after reading a review on Alistair Sawday's Website. We had high hopes and we were not disappointed. The farm was in an idyllic setting, so peaceful and so beautiful. We stayed for a week with our 3 year old grandson and our only complaint was that there were no pigs! The large (very large)master bedroom was a delight and the bed so comfortable, as were the pillows! We had every thing we needed and couldn't fault the place!

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you had such a good time here. We have had lots of compliments about the comfort of the beds - including emails asking where we bought them from !
We have two young and very lively rare breed pigs down in the orchard just now ( Gloucester Old spot/ Tamworth cross). It is very unusual for us to be without pigs except in the depth of winter, and we are sorry that you missed seeing them.

“Very peaceful, very comfortable - we loved it”
Reviewed 28 April 2012 for a stay in April 2012

It was actually the granary cottage next door that we stayed in - Alison and John made us very comfortable, leaving us a lovely welcome hamper for our arriva. Lovely cottage, super log burner and comfy bed.

“The perfect country retreat!”
Reviewed 6 February 2012 for a stay in November 2011

What can I say - possibly one of the best week’s of my life!! The purpose of our trip was to go Barbel fishing/my birthday and therefore, when we were trying to decide on where to stay, my partner’s main requirement was that it was close to the River, whereas mine was somewhere that was luxurious, comfortable and, importantly, had a fire for some cosy, post-fishing/romantic evenings.

The Old Barn not only met, but exceeded all these requirements. Set well off a quiet country lane, it is everything you would want from a country cottage - fully equipped kitchen, with more utensils than I can name; huge living/dining room with fabulous fireplace with woodburner (Alison lays a fab fire!), downstairs cloakroom and then upstairs are two bedrooms, which look like they belong in a magazine, they are so beautifully decorated, and two bathrooms - I defy anyone not to leap straight into the freestanding roll top bath and luxuriate in a bath full of bubbles with glass of wine!

Upon arriving, we were met by Alison who showed us around the cottage and gave us the keys. Also met by her gorgeous and very friendly dogs. In the kitchen was a welcome pack of bacon, eggs (laid by the resident chickens who you will see from the window as you climb the stairs!), milk, butter, bread & various snacks , which were definitely welcome after our long drive. We didn’t really cook whilst we were there, other than cooked breakfasts each day, but had we done so, the kitchen had all manner of utensils and appliances for our use.

Although we didn’t spend a lot of time at the cottage in the day, the evenings were nothing short of dreamy. After long soaks in the bath, it was time to curl up on the wonderfully comfortable sofas in front of the fire and enjoy a glass of wine & chocolates. It felt like being at home, but a thousand times better - everything was exactly as I would have it if I owned a property like this and Alison should be extremely proud of this little gem!!

And it is for this very reason that we intend to make a return visit later this year and would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere either close to the River or just somewhere for a luxurious break, you won’t regret it!!!

Oh, and for those of you wondering about the fishing - fantastic! We were about half an hour’s drive from the River Wye and we caught 11 barbel on our first visit. Highly recommend a visit to Woody’s Tackle Shop in Hereford - my partner went in to buy a day ticket and came back bursting with information, tips and advice which proved invaluable. FYI - it’s quite a walk across the fields to the banks, but sooo worth it when you get there! Happy fishing!

“Beautiful Accommodation and perfect location to explore Herefordshire”
Reviewed 20 September 2011 for a stay in August 2011

We were attracted by the location and high class accommodation with plenty of oldy worldy character - we were not disappointed. The little Quebb web site was very informative and it was easy to book with Alison and John O'Grady - supplying good information and details of how to get there and were really helpful and friendly. A welcome pack of local provisions was provided when we arrived and the accommodation was not only stunning but spotless and really comfortable. The kids were delighted at being invited to feed the pigs and chickens on the smallholding. We all had the best nights sleep we have had away from home. The position of the small holding is perfect as its just off the main road and a couple of minutes drive into Eardisley Village with a couple of pubs and shops. The central location allowed us to visit all the main towns in Herefordshire and Hay on Wye, just over the border, is very close. Its not often that we find somewhere that we couldn't fault and having exceptionally good value. We would have no hesitation in recommending Little Quebb to anyone. Don't miss the opportunity to have breakfast in the farmhouse as the house is hundreds of years old with original beams and features and a stunning breakfast.
