I wouldn't quite say it was the best chinese I have had but it is good. Also very handy to have one of those Tastecards as you get 2 for 1 on all courses.
The managers there are very friendly, they go round and talk to the customers. The place could also do with a refurb to bring it into the 21st century as it is getting quite tatty inside now.

We've been going here for about 20 years and recently went for my husband's birthday along with a friend. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive and allowed a nice gap between each course. As it was my husband's birthday they lowered the lights and sang happy birthday and brought out a free dessert. Well worth going to.

Not many Chinese restaurants are left near Harpenden so luckily the Chef Peking is still as good as always. We went for the Sunday buffet and it was brilliant, reasonably priced with hot, fresh food. The place was packed so word has obviously got round.

Well worth a visit!

This is a poor resturant, when you walk in and sit down you cant help but notice how old the place looks, tatty carpet and waiters who stand around and gawp at you! you cant even breathe without them coming and bugging you! Food is standard but NOT fresh, we ordered a platter for 2 and it came out within 1 minute, i was shocked as how can that be fresh? You cant cook ribs and chicken statay that quick! boss is very rude too as he wouldn't accept tastecard at first! I wont be going again that for sure!
