We were attending a Wedding but decided to make a weekend of it so booked in on the Friday night.
A great and informative welcome from reception who were helpful at every given opportunity. Our room had obviously been recently decorated and was perfect. The bed was incredibly comfortable and there were lots of great extras - delicious biscuits, free bottled water and most importantly, free wifi. The bathroom was wonderful with a large bath, powerful shower and two basins which meant we could wash / shave and talk, meaning even more time together.
The bar area along with the drawing room were very relaxing and at all times attended by very pleasant and capable staff.
Dinner in the restaurant was delicious with plenty of staff, over-looked by the Slovakian Manager who was professional through to his finger tips. We had teamed up with some of the other Wedding guests and were not an easy party of seven (were enjoying our alcohol), but if we were being rowdy, all was coped with in excellent humour.
Breakfast the following morning (as indeed on the Sunday in a private room) was of a very high standard. Buffets can often be mediocre but this was not. The sausages and freshly made omelettes were the very best and the coffee, so often a cheap let down, delicious
The day of the Wedding was handled (from what we could see) brilliantly. The room for the service very tastefully and professionally laid out, the canapés and champagne served in the beautiful grounds for two hours, you could not fault, both for quality and service and then the Wedding breakfast itself, you could not wish for more. Food was tasty, glasses were never empty and the constant stream (mainly young) of staff at your beck and call, was commendable.
The evening ended with another buffet, all re-organised in the same room as our previous meal and three bar staff worked wonders with the huge number of guests.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough but as a post script, be warned as others have done, the bar prices are not cheap. One might be told they are competitive but there is not much else in the area. That, however, is a minor gripe as was my one very funny complaint, when I asked the young waitress what my starter actually was at the Wedding reception - " I don't know" and off she waltzed.
Am saving already for my next weekend there.
