My wife and I visit the calzone at least once a week and every time the food is lovely. Always very fresh and tasty. Prices are perfect for the size of meals. The staff are lovely smile faces and are alwasy very warm welcoming.
Thank you for everyone!

The staff in this restaurant, particularly the owner, were extremely cold and unfriendly. If you intend to come with a baby or a very young child, be aware that you are not welcome here!
The food is over expensive, especially considering the size of the pizzas (too small). The taste is just average. There are plenty of better restaurants in this area, don't waste your time and money on this one.

We've stayed at the nearby Apsley Holiday Inn both this year and last, and during both of our trips we ate at Calzone numerous times. The food served there is proper Italian, the best pizza I've tasted. The restaurant is in a scenic area, perched right upon the edge of a canal and next to a pretty mooring area for canal boats, with outdoor seating available. Staff are friendly and don't bother you during your meal as in some restaurants. Prices are decent, and if you want to take the food with you rather than eat at the restaurant it's even cheaper. We would without doubt eat at Calzone again.

Service, recommendations ,food and wine were excellent value. The waiters seemed to know exactly when to serve and chat. The pizzas and picky starters were fantastic. Loved the ambience, and they weren't pushy over the menu.

While staying at the nearby Holiday Inn Express (which was excellent), my wife and I went for a lovely walk along the nearby canal. Feeling hungry on our return we spotted 'Calzone' and dropped in for a light meal and drink. We were not particularly hungry so shared a garlic bread and Caesar Salad. The staff were very welcoming and were more than happy to provide us with 2 plates and 2 sets of cutlery to allow us to share. The garlic bread was excellent and the salad was the best I have ever had. The service and food quality meant that I was tempted by the dessert menu, from which I chose the deep apple tart with vanilla ice cream. This was absolutely delicious.

Our only regret was that we had not discovered the restaurant earlier during our hotel stay, as we would have eaten there every day!

Just wish it was a little nearer as we live 200 miles away! Ah well, hope to visit again some day.
