We visited Chang Mai Cottage in Old Hemel on Sunday 18th September with friends and their two children for a spot of Sunday lunch.

We opted for the set price 3 course menu.

We decided to order a selection of starters and mains and share amongst ourselves.

For starters we had Chicken Satay, Spicy Thai Chicken Wings and some Spring Rolls all served with Thai crackers and sweet chilli sauce. Delicious.

For Mains we had Gree and Red Chicken Curries, Pad Thai and Spicy Garlic chicken all served with Sticky rice.

For deserts we had the Banana Fritters and Vanilla Ice Cream.

The meal was absolutely delicious and the service superb. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming and impeccably turned out in traditional Thai dress. The restaurant has been decorated with lovely Thai silks and "Gold" statues. Really authentic feel of Thailand in the middle of Old Hemel.

I would definitely recommend that anyone that enjoys authentic Thai cuisine vists the Chang Mai Cottage.

I go here with my boyfriend and family every few months and have never been disappointed.

The service is always first class - welcoming, friendly and extremely efficient.
The food matches the service and is always fresh, gorgeously flavoured and delicious.

Small restaurant over 3 floors, very quirky but gives a great atmosphere. food is wonderful, tasty and fantastic selection.
Service has always been 1st first, would be my first choice when taking friends to eat Asian food.

We went in on Sunday evening and found plenty of free tables, there is a Gourmet night deal on Sunday and Monday night which is £10 for 4 courses per head, so you can have this plus a couple of Singha's and get change from £40 for a couple.
The food was very well presented and was very tasty - a good change of dishes some which you dont see regularly.
The tables here are fairly close so dont expect too much privacy but there is a nice atmosphere inside, it does make you feel you are in a Thai restaurant...
If you havent been before its well worth a try and makes a change from the other restaurants in the old town.
