I booked this hotel for a visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, which is only a couple of miles away. The hotel itself was very good - the rooms spacious and clean. The hotel has several wheelchair-adapted rooms which are reasonably well thought-out for wheelchair users and include a roll-in bathroom, plug socket by the bed, and so on. There is a nice pool and a good choice of food.

Where the hotel was let down was in the booking process; as I really needed to speak to someone in order to try and book one wheelchair-adapted room and one regular room I used the chat function to avoid the hefty charges of the 0871 booking number. The booking confirmation showed I had booked as discussed with the agent, so all seemed well. But then only one pre-arrival confirmation arrived; I called the 0871 number as I could not risk turning up to find no wheelchair-accessible room available. Both rooms were confirmed again. The day before the visit I missed a call direct from the hotel (also an 0871 number) and called back but got a very confusing story about how one room could not be on the same level as the other as it was 'too much hassle' to put wheelchair users above ground level. When we arrived I was told both rooms could be on the same floor - but were not very near each other as the hotel was very busy. It all seemed very confusing and the bookings didn't really seem to be linked.

When booking for a disabled guest there really is no alternative to speaking to the hotel direct to discuss their needs precisely; it's a shame this has to be done at an unfair cost under the circumstances.

Room Tip: Reception-level rooms at the back are a good size and quiet - and above ground level without the hassle of stairs or lifts.

I'm so glad your husband enjoyed his birthday treat at Harry Potter Studios, it is proving to be extremely popular.
We do have an area by the top of the bar where we put kids games out, but as you say we do not have a TV.
Many thanks for your great comments regarding the breakfast team, they will be delighted!

We are a family of 5 (2 adults 3 kids) and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to Holiday Inn a few days ago.The staff were excellent and attended to our every need.We were given a very spacious room with comfortable beds, nice tv and 3 seperate beds.
Food was reasonably priced, kids eat free! their free meal includes; a starter, a main course and a scrumptious dessert. Also I would highly reccomend this hotel if you have booked tickets to go to the scenes of Harry Potter. We went there ourselves and, although it wasn't cheap, it was well worth the money. It isn't very far only about a quarter of an hour from the hotel but I imagine it would be very busy in the half term. The facilities and Health Club were very good and we all enjoyed the swimming pool, sauna & the jacuzzi. We stayed for 2 nights & 1 day.Overall I would definitely come here again. Many thanks to the staff for making our stay fantastic!

Room Tip: If you choose a ground floor room they are more spaced out.

My wife and I stayed overnight while on an organised coach trip to London. It was the first time we had stayed at a Holiday Inn so we were unsure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised especially with Lazarus, who was, I believe, the duty manager. He came on to the coach and gave each of us our room keys to save any delays at reception. The room was spacious and extremely clean, with flat screen TV and aircon etc. The bathroom was equiped with ample towels, shampoo and shower gel. Dinner that evening was a three course buffet meal of excellent quality with a full English breakfast the next day, which had been set out early, as we had an early start to get back to London to board the PS Waverley at Tower Pier.
All in all, a very enjoyable, but short stay at the hotel. We would certainly recommend this hotel and would stay there again if we were in the area.

Room Tip: Our room was pre-booked so we had no say in the part of the hotel the room was located in. We were on the ground floor at the back so there was no traffic noise.
