Had a meal and drinks in this ph and found the food and beer very nice.It appears to have been refurbished- new smell of paint etc and taken over by a pub chain. There were eight of us on a Sat night having food and cocktails (2 for 1 up till 10pm).The quality of the food was very good with the "new" waitress the only concern as she didnt really know what dishes she was bringing out and struggled to serve our party with any confidence and didnt smile! at all.The food and drinks bill came to approx £200 for eight of us with three courses for five of our party and was well worth the money. The only area of disappointment was the loud music in the corner where we were seated - we had booked a table - so we were in the noisiest area and the warmest part. The staff were very friendly and the food was very nice as was the beer.Well worth a visit, hope the waitress improves with experience.

Went to the green man yesterday for a family birthday diner and was very disappointed with it, the restaurant is very nice, and also the staff. We were a family of 7 including 2 children, the first problem was that 2 of the dishes that we ordered were not available, the prawn cocktails were a half pint beer mug full of lettuce with 5 prawns on the top and a spoon full of sauce, 3 small bits of bread in triangles and a butter pat, no lemon or tomato garnish and nothing in the bottom of the beer mug to warrant digging down for. Roast diner arrived on worm plates but the food was cold we returned it and it was reheated, the portions were very big, meat and the veg were good but the Yorkshire pudding had the consistency of a cup cake, the roast potatoes were just not. The children's diners seemed to be the best, and the mixed grill was ok. A very nice pub with a good atmosphere but I will be looking on here before returning again

Came across this pub by accident when visiting the area. The food was absolutely stunning and good value for money. The staff were so friendly and the whole place has a lovely atmosphere. Wish I lived closer to visit more often!

Went to the green man for a spot of dinner and to see how the renovation went. The pub is lovely, tidy and lovely decor. The menu has a nice selection as well. We order the fish platter to share and then the chicken burger and chicken pie for a main. The food arrived all at the same time, so the mains would have been cold when we got to the mains, also with no cutlery. The fish platter was overcooked and tasteless. The mains were a shambles. The burger brought out was a beef burger and not chicken, and the pie looked as if it had been sitting in the kitchen all day. The mash was really lumpy, the veg was cold and washed out and again looking like it had been around all day. We sent them back, not much of an apology, it wasn't even particularly busy, not sure what the food will be like when it is busy.
