I ordered mushrooms on toast with peppercorn sauce, came out cold, the peppercorn sauce just tasted like they had thrown a whole pot of peppercorn in it and was inedible. My partner had the mixed grill, they asked him how you would like the steak and he said medium to rare, when it was
brought out the chicken, the gammon and the steak had been over cooked and tasted all the same, basically cooked to death. The fried egg was rock hard. Again inedible. The waitress handed me the scampi and chips and landed up throwing some of the scampi on my lap and gave me no knife and fork to eat it with. The waitresses were young and looked like they really didn't want to be there, not a smile or any pleasantness.

It is a real shame because the building and surroundings are really nice, I was shocked at the quality and service and believe they could do so much better if they got their food and service
right.

went with work colleague- just for an evening meal. the steaks we both had were well cooked and presented, the portion size was good. Coming from the South West, it was also nice to see Doombar on tap! no issues with service, but the pub was quite quiet.

I had seen this pub had been recently refurbished and the menu looked reasonable, so I was looking forward to trying it out with some friends. However i was very disappointed and came away feeling unsatisfied. The food was ok nothing special at all, but the service was terrible. When we ordered drinks and set up a tab she put alot of barriers in our way. ''you wont be able to pay separately when the bill comes'' and had an i cannot be bothered attitude. I personally felt like a nuisance. Also i ordered a soda water and lime and charged me £2.10 for soda water and 60p for the lime ! Everywhere else i have been the most i have been charged is 45p ! They didn't know what they were doing and were rude. The whole team had no authority and was all about 18 years old which isn't a problem but they came across extremely rude.
Defiantly wont be going back again.

After seeing reviews decided to go for evening meal. Nicely decorated. Nice menu! The salad with the egg had a cold poached egg on top which I returned to be given it back with a hard egg which had obviously been put in a microwave!! Hence a hard egg! Warm brownie was served cold almost frozen in the middle! Other friends had chicken pie which they said was nice! My experience was not great! Felt quite disappointed! I complained to the manager who gave a complimentary bottle of wine! Sadly will not be returning! Not great food! Typical pub grub!!
