“Best Budget Hotel in Hemel”
Reviewed 9 June 2013

I stayed here for a week after previously staying at the travel lodge last week. While the travel lodge was clean and good value. The holiday inn express gives you far greater comfort. The rooms are to a higher standard, if you are staying in the hotel for work. It's more than adequate as a base to sleep... The food is surprisingly good. And enough variety to last a week. Kellie who is the waitress at evening is fast and efficient. The hotel is situated next to a decent pub, a canal, and a couple of other options for food at an Indian or italian along the canal.
The FREE WiFi is definitely a bonus compared to paying else where.
Best budget hotel in hemel.

Room Tip: All rooms are new, there is no real benefit to requesting a room.

Dear guest, thank you for taking the time to review about your stay with us and are so pleased that you find us to be the best budget hotel in Hemel. We have just made our WiFi free to all our guests and we are pleased that you found this to be helpful to you. I have also passed on the feedback regarding Kellie which is always lovely to be able to pass on such lovely comments to the team. We do hope you will return soon where we can welcome you back again.

We stayed here for two nights 31 May,1st June,as we were invited to a friends 40th birthday party .As the party was on the Saturday we decided to go to London on the Friday. the hotel was very clean & tidy full freeview chanels on the television.staff very nice, better than a budget hotel (it was only £45 per night per room with breakfast).

This is the 3rd time I have stayed here - twice with family for Harry Potter studios and once for business. For what you pay it's great value for money - location is ideal with great pub just over the road for dinner and only 15 minute drive to Harry Potter Studios. Rooms were modern , clean and well-equipped - if a little cramped when used as a family of 4 with sofa bed used. Buffet breakfast is ideal and plentiful. Staff especially Susannah and Teri are all really friendly and helpful. Would stay again without hesitation

We are always greeted so warmly when we visit and this time my son was 6 and the staff were really kind to him. Great location for Train to LONDON. We went for a lovely stroll along the canal and found the park just across the canal which we hadn't seen before. This hotel is clean tidy and convenient. Would stay again

Nice hotel in a beautiful setting, stayed here for one night as part of Harry potter tour, rooms a little small for a family of three but we got at a great rate, about 4 miles from studio tour, had ample parking, breakfast was good fresh and tasty, and great pub paper mill next door serving great meals. Would use again without hesitation.

Staff are very helpful but the room was a big let down compared to Premier Inn. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable, neither myself or my wife had a good nights sleep. There were still hairs left in the bathroom from the previous guest I assume.

Thank you for your feedback and may I apologise that you and your husband did not have a great sleep. I am also disappointed to hear that the bathroom cleanliness was not to our usual high standard - I have passed your comments onto my housekeeping department who have taken these comments on board and will ensure that they improve on their service standards immediately. Thank you again for taking the time to review your recent stay and we do hope you will use Holiday Inn Express in the future.
Kind regards,Suzannah Richardson.

Following my successful weekend at a HEX in Manchester I decided to book for a weekend visiting old friends in Hemel Hempstead. Once again immaculately clean comfortable and modern room.
Reception staff were charming and helpful providing forgotten toothpaste and booking us a taxi when we asked for it. Breakfast was good , plenty of choice. Wifi in roooms not free , but really for £ 47 per night within the M25 its represents comfort , quiet sleep and excellent value.
