“Pleasant stay”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

We stayed here for one night before visiting the Harry Potter Studios. Staff were helpful and polite. Rooms small but clean. We had two rooms with an interconnecting door.Nice location near the canal- had an enjoyable walk on Sunday am. Good breakfast. Would stay again if in area.

We stayed for one Saturday night and all was good. Clean room, nice bed and satisfactory breakfast. We paid £43 for two so it can't get better than that. A 5 minute walk along the Grand Union canal, past the pretty marina and there is a excellent vegetarian restaurant called 'Woodys'. There is also an Italian, an Indian and 'The Papermill' pub is right next door, so plenty of choice. We had no problems parking at the hotel and there is alternative parking available if it is full. We have family nearby, so we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: ask for non-smoking on the canal/car park side.

Stayed at this hotel for the 2nd time during a London trip. Fab location.
One thing though I couldn't work the air con/ heater out it seemed to be blowing cold air out so I was cold but apart from that everything was great.

My husband, two year old son and I arrived at 6pm on Friday 22nd November in readiness for our Harry Potter Studio tour first thing the next morning.

I am pleased to note that the hotel had called me a week earlier in order to confirm what beds & bedding were required.

One of the staff had remembered, when we checked in, that I had called ahead to check if there was a restaurant onsite. He confirmed bar meals were still available (as discussed on the phone) but that the pub & nearby restaurants were good too and also offered children's menus.

The Paper Mill was too busy but please see my review of Calzone's, which was a very pretty 2 minute walk away across the quay.

My only complaint would be the very weak Wifi. Not enough bandwidth to watch TV on our phones (which is useful when sharing a room with a toddler who's asleep by 7:30!). But, in fairness, we did not raise this issue on the night.

A good-sized wet room but no bath. Comfy bed and plenty of space for travel cot (a spare bed was also offered, but we always travel with our own).

A good range at breakfast, staff engaged with and chatted to our son. Although, I agree with other posters, bacon would be the icing on the cake!

A comfortable night and very friendly staff. All in all, EXCELLENT value for £39! (Booking.com)

Pre booked this hotel for a group and was assured the restaurant would be open until 9.30 pm and told that if we were running late I could ring and they would ensure they stayed open. arrived at 9.00pm to be told they were not serving food, no apology etc. However as there were other establishments in the area I didn't kick up a fuss (see my review of The Paper Mill and Calzone!) Rooms were lovely and clean and a good size for me and my two boys. In a great location near to the canal and with an Indian and Italian in close proximity. Friends told me the rooms overlooking the road were noisy but we were at the back and had a lovely sleep with no disturbance. Small bar area and some of our friends brought food in and there was no problem with that. Breakfast offered continental and cooked, but the cooked was basic, sausages, beans and scrambled eggs - but no bacon!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of drinks on offer. Staff on reception were lovely and helpful especially when we told them we were going to Harry Potter, very engaging with the children. All in all a good nights stay for a very reasonable price, but they need to sort out their messages around the restaurant.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back as these are quieter

Stayed here on the evening of Friday 22nd November, arrived on a coach with work colleagues. Check in was quick and painless. Our room overlooked the main road and i did find the traffic quite noisy but for 1 night not a problem, room very clean and well set out. Our party organiser had spoken to the chef who had said he was happy to do food for us up to 9:30. We arrived @ 9 and was told we could not have food and to try the pub across the car park. We dumped our bags and headed out, we were 2 adults with 3 hungry and tired children. The pub sadly was not very accommodating (The PAPER MILL) will provide feedback on their site. Visit Calzone the Italian lovely food and helpful staff. Breakfast was fine and enough variety to suit all our party, the staff were lovely and friendly and when the asked where we were going and told them Harry Potter she told the children how wonderful it was. The area around the hotel is lovely the Grand Union Canal and Marina are picturesque.

Room Tip: Ask for a room over the car park.

Used up points but room rate would have been £40.Much cheaper than Premier Inn's I've been in and the breakfast is included. Bed comfortable and room clean. Entrance from the car park area smoky as people stand there because the cigarette bin is close to the door. Check-in efficient but if you want to order a taxi they will hand you the phone to do it yourself! Breakfast very chaotic at 9am - lots of children running around, people making tea in front of the coffee machines blocking them, no knives when I got my breakfast. Choice of food good. Sausages actually okay, not beefy. Scrambled egg looked grim so did not try that. Breakfast area quieter at 10am. Wi-fi free at the hotel even if your membership is not high enough. Probably would not stay again as not usually in the vicinity and cheaper+quicker to get the train from MK to London. There is a pub, Premier foods convenience store, italian, Indian and vegetarian cafe in the marina plus a Sainsburys down the road. Limited parking but reception offered to help find a place if I took car out of the hotel and could not find a space when I came back.

Room Tip: I would avoid ground floor (100 rooms) as smokey as described in review and not very secure - you ca...
