Deshi Spice is on the Maylands Industrial Estate in Hemel but don't let that put you off. Parking is easy with a very cheap carpark within 50 metres and free parking in the road outside teh restaurant after 6:30pm.

The food was excellent, I was delighted by my Peshwari Naan, Bombay Potatoes and Chicken Passanda curry, the starter of Tandori Chicken was a fairly standard item but the rest far exceeded expectations. The price was nice at £10.95 for the curry meal offer Monday-Wednesday and the service was good and friendly if perhaps a little slow, suggesting meals properly cooked to order.

I was very pleased indeed and I can see this becoming my first stop for an indian meal in Hemel Hempstead.

They don't at present open at lunchtime, but given their location surrounded by businesses they'd make a killing on Friday lunchtimes if they did.

Having never tried this place before, and hearing my friends talk about how good the food is. i was curious to check out this establishment. i am known to my friends and families as a bit of a fussy eater, however I was amazed by the quality of food and also how friendly the staff are. The waites are friendly and not intimidating and i will be back for sure, even my son manage to give a thumbs up to Deshi Nice.

Heading back to Yorkshire from the Derby at Epsom and looked on TripAdvisor for somewhere decent. Deshi Spice came up and we were not disappointed. Excellent quality food, friendly service and very good value. Close to the M1 so will definitely bear it in mind for the future.

Born out of the ashes of the Red Rose, a transformation! Much smaller than the Red Rose it offers great food in a comfortable modern surrounding. Service is very good. Parking outside on street is easy in the evening, the restaurant is not open at lunch time as far as I am aware. During the week the special offers a starter, main course, rice and a popadum for a little over £10 so great value.
