Lovely receptionist on arrival. Informative welcome. Bed was very comfortable but windows need sound protection. Ate in the restaurant. My starter was amazing (red snapper) but main course and dessert were average and cauliflower was rock hard. Service was Ok. Mixed bag really but would return on balance

Thank you for your review, Sarah. Its great to hear you had a good time. Sorry to hear your main course was not up to the standard you expected. I have passed your comments onto Lee, my Head Chef. We do source all our ingrediants as fresh as we can. We use a local Butcher and our vergetables and fruit are all prepared on the premesis and not bought in ready prepped in bags as some of our competitors do.
In the older parts of the Building I am aware the windows are not as soundproof as they could be. We are resticted with what we can do here with the age of the old house.

We do hope you will return soon and the stay you have will be a more memorable one.

We came to the Manor of Groves for a golf/spa weekend getaway and had a wonderful time. The hotel room was very nice and large with a comfy bed, and the bathroom was very clean. The hotel was extremely stingy on the toiletries they offered, with one small bar of soap, for the two sinks in the room but that, I acknowledge, is a very small point!

The attached gold course is in very good condition. It is a challenging but enjoyable course, and ranks up there with the best I have played. The gym, spa and pool were also very good.

I would highly recommend a visit, to chill out and unwind.

What great feedback! Thank you. High praise indeed when you say the Course is up there with the best you have played. I'm sure Damien, my Head Greenkeeper will be delighted to read that!

I'll review my soap portions too!

Many thanks for taking the time to post your review and hope we can welcome you back to the Manor of Groves in the near future.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel as we were here for a wedding. We booked a suite as we needed extra space for a travel cot etc and we were really impressed with the room.

The suite we stayed in was really spacious, highly recommend it if you are travelling with a baby. The furniture is quite 'old-y world-y' and a bit dated but the spaciousness of the room, the spacious bathroom and the massive comfy bed make up for it.

The bed was really comfy, bedding was nice & comfy, the bed has a strange canope above it which we thought was odd but in no way offensive!

The bathroom was really good too, it had a nice clean bath and shower, both were great, shower had excellent force.

The breakfast was impressive too, all things for a full English or continental, the quality of food was quite good too, especially considering this is only a 3* hotel.

We were expecting this hotel to be a little shabby and didnt have high expectations for the food simply because of the 3* rating but we were pleasantly surprised. We also ordered room service a few times throughout the stay and again really impressed with the quality of food and the presentation and the food was still hot when it arrived.

Overall really impressed with thsi hotel, if youre looking for ultimate luxury this probably isnt the place to go but if youre looking for a nice hotel, better than average etc i would recommend it.

My only gripe is the suite has a king size bed and a single fold away type bed which we didnt ask for or use and they tried to charge us an extra £30 per night ontop of the original cost of the room, however, when we did tell them we didnt ask for it or use it they dropped the charge without quibbling so that was good. However, it's worth checking the bill properly for this reason.

In conclusion we had a very enjoyable stay, I would return to this hotel and I would recommend it. I'd also recommend it as a wedding venue.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a suite if travelling with a baby/toddler, they have much more room.

Thank you for your review Dee, its always nice to read such glowing feedback!

We are really proud of our food offering. My Head Chef prepares the majority of the food fresh. He even makes his own breads for the Restaurant. He is even growing his own Strawberries on the grounds this year, amongst other things. These will be served when ripe in the Restaurant. He has a little garden at the back of his kitchen which he and his team are very proud of. This goes to show the amount of care my team here at Manor of Groves has.

We hope we can welcome you back to Manor of Groves in the near future.

Myself & three other couples stayed at this hotel for three nights, the men played golf & the women thought they would spoil themselves with the spa treatments, WRONG, they went to book treatments the day we arrived only to be told everything was booked up for the duration of our stay!! No happy bunnies, apart from that we had a great time. Food was excellent as was the service. Would def stay here again.

Thank you for your kind review. Great to hear that the trip was a good one. I'm really sorry you were not able to book into the Spa. We do only have 2 rooms, and they do get booked up in advance, so it is advisable to book before you arrive. Im sorry you missed this opportunity.

Im glad everything else was a success.

Just had a golf weekend and how good is this Hotel - A smile meets you when you check in.
Excellent Food-The Evening meal and the breakfast buffet came with spoilt for choice menus and superb service.
Facilities included a Health spa --and again service with a smile and that much needed jacuzzi and sauna after 18 holes was a saviour.

The Golf course was in good condition - tricky -but enjoyable -

Well done to the team at Manor of Groves Hotel team for a great weekend.

Room Tip: New the Leisure centre --so you can stroll to the pool.

I threw a surprise 30th birthday for my wife and it couldnt have gone any better!

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, the function room was perfect, the staff were attentive to detail and so friendly. Nothing was too big of an ask.

Friends and family stayed the night, some in 4poster beds and everyone thought it was luxurious but affordable.

My wife loved it!!
