We have visited the Rose and Crown on several occasions and previously found the food to be acceptable. On 4 August, we had a meal and were constantly annoyed by chattering, giggling staff standing at the bar. Up to 4 staff with seemingly nothing to do but when the pub became busy, they disappeared. We waited too long to pay for a sub standard meal. My husband had gammon which was fatty and a disgrace. My meal was congealed and the cabbage was raw. No staff were around to complain to and we will not be visiting again. On a previous occasion, we waited ages for a member of staff to appear to order pudding. When I and another customer tried to track someone down, we were spoken to quite curtly. Either too many staff or none at all - why are they not being managed including the kitchen staff who need training on quality?
