It seems a little unfair to mark this hotel down because to be fair it was the usual high standard you can expect from a Premier Inn. What let it down badly was the liaison with the adjacent restaurant
Called aptly enough the Young Pretender because it pretends to be a restaurant .
Thirty of us gathered there Saturday night for my mothers 96th birthday one young girl was left to take our drinks and food orders, the food in my opinion was of a poor standard and the drinks were very expensive.
At about 5pm we moved from the restaurant to the bar including the children who were all well behaved.at 9pm we were told the children could no longer stay in the bar but had to move back to the restaurant ,at 10pm we were asked to move out of the restaurant because they wanted to set up for breakfast. At 11pm we were told the bar was closed and no more drinks would be served, we asked for the duty manager and her manner left a lot to be desired. They were happy to take our money all day but 11pm on a Saturday night our party was forced to end !
So my advice is by all means stay at the Premier Inn but find somewhere else to eat

Staff were very helpful and friendly room appeared very nice excellent shower and plenty of hot water.
Unfortunately the bed was awful after reserving a double room we found the double bed was 2 singles zipped together was a very uncomfortable night sleep.
Secondly the quilt was stained in several places with what appeared to be blood and a long brown stain these were hidden under the purple throw and not noticed till the morning.

This was a good value stopover for two nights. I only had breakfast in the pub next door, and it was the standard Premier Inn breakfast - good, but not exceptional. Rooms were fine, and it was good value as I stayed on a Sunday night and had a very good price that night. Parking was easy and convenient. The hotel is convenient for the M25, but also via Hemel for the M1.

the hotel was great very comfortable and clean and wll equipped . We stayed as a family and some of the time had four rooms . the only grumble was that the sofa beds in the family rooms were hard .breakfast was served at the pub next door .The staff were helpful and friendly .

Room Tip: check the amount of stairs as 3 levels

We stayed 2 nights, v handy for Harry Potter and handy for kings Langley stationn also - £6 for the day parking then train into Euston - easy peasy for a day in London, however, we went the weekend of the BIG STORM and drove a little bit further to get train from Watford because there was a twig on the line or something at Kings Langley pfffft! Anyway back to premier Inn - first night was storm night and we lowered the temp in room so heating would not come on until below 14 and despite this it was reading about 24 in the room and with 4 in the family room I was cooking - we opened the window all night and being a light sleeper just heard the storm so had to concede in the end to roasting and shut the window about 4am giving me a nice 3 hrs sleep - mentioned at reception and they put a fan in for the next night which made a difference though being no storm we could have the window open as well. Didn't get the money back guarantee offered for the first night and being very British I didn't push it but really good clean rooms and ideal just a pity they don't have aircon because really it was hot hot hot. Pub attached v good, food ok, v friendly service. The reception at premier inn also very friendly and chatty. Soooo to summarise I would go here again yes I would but I would ask for the fan on the way in.

Small car parking spaces and lack of spaces when the attached restaurant is serving evening meals. Easy fuss free check in after a long drive and a clean comfortable room. The attached restaurant was full when I arrived at 2015hrs and I could not get a table for dinner - should have booked!

This Premier Inn is very convenient for the Harry Potter tour and easily reached from M1 & M25. What you get is the usual Premier Inn facilities - very clean, comfortable room and good value. The few staff we saw were friendly and helpful. Our only negative comment would be that the automatic extractor fan in the en-suite was rather noisy. Unfortunately the restaurant next door doesn't come up to scratch and if we stay here again we would look elsewhere to dine.
