We were booked into the Lion by the owner of our B&B as we hadn't had a chance to organise dinner ourselves, and we were very pleased with her choice of restaurant! The menu was varied and interesting with a good selection of game and a lot of local produce - I went for the Guinea fowl and my boyfriend had the rabbit - both were delicious. The wine list was good quality and VERY reasonably priced (we chose an excellent Chablis) plus the desserts were mouth-watering too with a yummy selection of homemade ice cream - the salted caramel was particularly impressive! The service was friendly and efficient and the dining room has a lovely warm atmosphere, the only person who wasn't very sociable was Rooney the resident ginger cat who studiously ignored us for the whole evening! We come from Cheltenham and a similar standard of food would have been double the price here so we came away very pleased indeed - don't hesitate to pay the Lion a visit, you won't be disappointed.
