When we arrived for a week's stay at Highgate House, we received a lovely warm welcome, including tea and coffee, from the owners, Cyril and Margaret Merriman. We were shown to our room and were really impressed with the cleanliness. It was a large, light and airy room with three windows, one of which overlooked the back garden and countryside in the distance. The en-suite facilities were spotless. There were freshly laundered soft white towels, plenty of soap, shampoo and shower gel. The towels were changed daily and all soaps etc replenished as we used them. The double bed was very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep every night.

Breakfast kept us going all day! To start, there was always a choice of cereal, fruit juice, yoghurts, grapefruit segments and fresh fruit. Tea and coffee arrived soon after we sat down each day followed closely by fresh toast. The breakfasts were always freshly cooked, hot and tasty. If you wanted something different, it was better to say the night before.

Cyril and Margaret always made us feel at home. We enjoyed chatting with them about where we had been and what we had seen - it was as if we had known them for years. They worked hard every day to ensure all their guests were looked after and to keep Highgate House looking pristine. It is a lovely Victorian house which has been well maintained and is kept scrupulously clean.

The house is situated no more than a 10 minutes' comfortable walk to the centre of Leominster and is great base for touring Herefordshire. There are several National Trust properties nearby and towns such as Ludlow and Hereford, less than 30 minutes drive away. Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed here as part of our Lands End to John O'Groats Cycle Challenge. The owners made us very welcome accommodating our four bikes in their shed. They also washed and hung out our cycling gear and provided breakfast before our early start. Rooms were clean and we were all well-rested for our leg to Acton Bridge in Cheshire.

Our visit to this b & b lived up to our expectations completely. The accommodation was furnished and decorated to a high standard, and very clean.
The owners were very welcoming, attentive yet unobtrusive. Would gladly recommend this to friends and family either for business or leisure.
There is limited private parking for residents.

Such a nice place to stay! Extremely comfortable and an excellent breakfast. I spent 3 nights here on my own and it was like taking a little holiday. The bed was very comfortable, and the room well equipped and beautifully decorated. I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely B & B - thank you for a relaxing stay.

Highgate is a beautiful house with spacious, comfortable rooms. With cleanliness high
on the list there are many thoughtful touches, such as tea and coffee-making facilities
and an easy chair in which to relax. The owners, C yril and Margaret, do all they can
to make one feel at ease. Whilst being excellent hosts they are not intrusive in any
way. We enjoyed a week in the family room and we recommend it.

We are really grateful for your super review. Room 1 now has a large ensuite which is much better than the seperate bathroom. Hope you are all well and that " little chap " is still giving you all a lot of pleasure. I expect he'll be ready for school in another year or so.
