“A lovely way to tire the grandchildren”

Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum

We have used Queenswood for family outings and meeting up for years, My children loved it and now the grandchildren love it too, searching for the wooden animals and racing to the look out, they never tire of it. The park is safe and clean, the staff in both the shop and café are helpful and friendly. We even had a birthday barbeque there which was a great success.

We come here year round as it is half way between us Grandparents and my youngest daughters home so we use it as a place to meet up to have time with the grandkids. It is a little bit fraught with the two year old as the playground is more geared for older children but the four year old loves it.
We love to wander around the paths and the children love the freedom that they have here.
There is parking at the front and also there are little car parks up past that car park which are very nicely laid out and are shady which is useful when travelling with little ones and dogs.

If you are looking for somewhere to stop for a couple of hours, get something to eat and drink, and let kids stretch their legs and run of some steam, this place definitely fits the bill. Also good for picnics. The cafe is reasonable priced with a good menu and you can eat indoors or take-away. The large playpark is well designed and great fun. We spent a very pleasant couple of hours here and would definitely return again and recommend it.

Brilliant woods for the family, dogs, romance, views etc. I have been going here since I was a child and really enjoy it.

As a family we visit here on a regular basis and every time we have a great afternoon out. We visit here all year round and if its raining we take our waterproofs and wellies. It is one of the few places that we can visit as a famiy that doesn't break the bank. It is the perfect place to take our son as the majority of the paths are pushchair friendly.
The park is kept in immaculate condition and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The park is usually quite busy but it is full of people that are there to spend time with family and friends which is so lovely to see. Don't be put off if the car park is full, as the park doesn't seem busy even if the car park is full!!!
There is a play area for children to burn off energy and enjoy being outside, one improvement that could be made here is that there are not any playing facilities for young toddlers such as swings with the sides. The cafe also gets quite busy but the food that they serve is delicious. (I wished they served food for longer).
The baby changing facilities are clean and family friendly.
This park can be enjoyed by everyone, not just families and it is no wonder it gets very busy during warm summer days.
