Characterful old "black and white" inn that seems quite rightly popular with locals and tourists like us alike, all seem to be made welcome by friendly staff. Lovely open fires, good choice of real ales and local ciders and excellent, wholesome food- we were well taken with the enormous choice of Ludlow Pies, all served with chips or mash and peas or salad, and an additional gravy boat, excellent value at £7.95 each. I could easily have stayed there all day but getting back to our hotel afterwards may have been tricky in consequence. This really is a must visit if you think you like English pubs...also if you think you don't!

My partner and I spent a weekend in Leominster, and found the Chequers on Friday early afternoon. There was a big open fire burning brightly as you walked into the bar, which immediately made the pub feel warm and welcoming. There was a good choice of real ale on offer, and the home cooked bar food was wholsome, tasty and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

Proper pub. Wood fires in most rooms, Delicious bitter. Good unfussy food. Men with beads... but welcoming and friendly. We only stopped in Leominster for lunch on the way back from North Wales and came here having looked at trip advisor options. We're really glad we did. Everything was great.

We went here on the 17th of February for a family meal,to celebrate my Dads 92nd Birthday. There was 12 of us.We has a lovely welcome.Ordered our drinks and sat by the lovely open fire.Later on we all went into a room called the stables, which also had a lovely log burner lit in the room. The staff came and took our order for lunch. When it arrived it was brilliant lovely and hot .We all said what a lovely meal it was.We then ordered desserts which was also great. When we had finished we all went back into the bar and enjoyed sitting by the open fire.We would go there again and recommend it to friends.

Beautifully decorated, great service. The food was fabulous! If I didn't live locally I would love to stay over as colleagues have said how gorgeous the rooms are. Have eaten here a few times always excellent.
