Tucked away in Church St. in Leominster, is the "Gem", that is Gracies. During the day you can relax sampling away with a tapas menu, real homemade cakes or a relaxing drink. At night it morphs into a sumptious bar with an eclectic friendly crowd. On a Monday it's best secret is revealed, a trio of musicians who could charm the birds from the trees, playing a mosaic of music bul mainly in a jazzy vein.It can be likened to a personal performance in your lounge, such is the comfortable feel to Gracies. Designed for a discerning clientelle and the music is sublime. It's what heaven must feel like.

Gracies is an unlikely venue for Leominster, but one which in a short time has become a real favourite. A slightly camp atmosphere ( the tone is set by a large photo of Gracie the dog), there is a good range of drinks, food and wines. The owners are rumoured to have taken over the Bluenote Café ( which for many years was Leominster's alternative venue) and I have high hopes that they will weave their magic their also.

Reviewed before without trying the food. But I can now report the food is great, with wide variety, changing menus and sensible prices. Food has fanciful names, but friendly staff are there to explain exactly what you are getting. If you are elderly, or disabled, beware of the steps to the main eating area. There is no handrail or convenience grips.

I am not a dog lover but the dog (Gracie) is a real advantage to this place. She has lovely eyes, and I swear she winked at me! Very pattable. Found the venue a bit 'synthetic' although I am assured everything is genuine 'black and white'. Didn't sense any particular atmosphere, quite neutral actually. But it's the people that make it. Nearly empty when I visited. Must go again and have a meal. I'm told the food is exceptional. Wine was acceptable but quite expensive, ditto the coffee.

Never visited before, and would highly recommend a visit. A girl in her twenties was playing the piano in the background and sounded really good. She was playing songs that everyone knew and real modern upto date songs that everyone could sing a long too. There was a girl working behind the bar, although im fairly sure she would be better off being paid to sing the other side of the bar, rather than getting a poor wage as a bar maid. She looks as if bar work really is NOT her thing bless her, and perhaps the 2 girls should think about doing gigs in pubs around the county as together they sounded amazing! I sampled some of the tapas menu and that was really good, although im fairly common so a pie and chips would of done me. All in all the atmosphere and the people was great and not like a pub i visited prior, by the train station which was full of under aged youth who looked like they took alot more than just alchohol! Graces was a much better port of call and i will definatly be returning. thank you so much. A great night!
