visited The George tonight, after working in the area,
barman only spoke three times, his words were,"& £3.40, £3.60 & £3.60, talk about southern hospitality!! with looks to kill as well !!. in all my 42 years of drinking and eating in Ale houses, I have never visited such an inhospitable
public house anywhere in the "World" , hang your head in shame Mr George

Good value for money, friendly atmosphere, good choice of food. The Landlord and his staff are always helpful, courteous and welcoming. The George in a small village pub, with lots of character. Its is clean and bright and welcoming. I would highly recommend a visit to sample the good food.

Food is fresh and of a good quality. Prices are reasonable. Staff friendly. Surroundings are however drab and small-would benefit from a refurb although as a small village pub would definately recommend.

Had looked at previous reviews and had decided to try it in the summer. Fully booked the first time! Rand the second time, fully booked - this made us more determind. Third time lucky, booked a couple of days before. Old country pub. Good choice of beer for the beer drinkers and wine for the rest is us.
Six of us went, had different starters, all very fresh and good. A good choice of main meals and a side dish of onion rings which were spotted on another table, best onion rings we had tasted in years, definitely not from a plastic bag. Really good service and worth visiting. But book beforehand...

We visited the George whilst staying one night at a nearby guest house before flying to France for our holiday. Very welcoming and friendly even though we hadn't booked. Excellent food and very good value in a charming old pub. Would love to revisit if we are ever in the area again.
