It is a good to be able to see the animals that close though it may take a bit of glossing over to ensure that little children do not get to freaked out as to how they came to be stuffed.

It does get busy but it is a great and free experience.

Parking can be tricky but there is a car park less than ten minutes away with the first hour free. Also, there are a nice range of local eating places too.

It hosts the Wildlife Photographer of the Year after it has been in London, so if that is your thing look out for that. Also, does a great range of activities in school holidays.

“Half term visit”
Reviewed 30 May 2014 via mobile

Weve never been before and came one a rainy half term day with my 1 and 6 year olds. We didnt try the main carpark but round the corner 5m walk was another carpark which had plenty of space. We had a pushchair with us which didnt stop us accessing everything as there is a ramp and lift. My children loved looking at all the exhibits in particular using the clipboards to fill in their worksheets.
Cafe a bit pricey and not much indoor space to sit. Baby change clean and knowledgable staff.
We will return.

“Brilliant local attraction for all”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

We live fairly locally and visit here several times a year. It's a wonderful museum full of history and a wonderful collection of animals.
It's free to enter and always entertains for an hour of so.
A couple of tips; the cafe only opens on weekends and school hols. The school holidays are extremely busy and its a small museum so arrive early or just before closing. There's a lovely picnic area in a sun trap garden so take a packed lunch and then enjoy a walk around tring park, which you enter directly opposite.

“Excelente Experience!”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

A free program, with a fantastic range of animals from everywhere, some of them are now extincts. The staff was very helpful and gentle, I have never seen a treatment like this before in a Museum. They also seem to love their work, and we can feel their pleasure and passion to explain about the animals. They also have an interesting place for kids. Very nice place.

“Great, great, great.”

I have been to this venue many, many times. It's free. And very interesting. Kids love it. I only found out recently but the café isn't open during the week.
