Premier Inn Tring Hotel
Ranked #1 of 3 Hotels in Tring
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 9 October 2013

Location: Easy to find on main road. Big car park.

Reception: Warm welcome at check-in and every time we passed through on our way in/out. Excellent staff.

Room: Smaller than most Premier Inns we've been to. Very little room around the bed. Just a desk & chair - no separate sofa or other chair and no other table.

Bathroom: Also smaller than most Premier Inns but at least with a bath with shower over and with the curved shower curtain rail so you don't get shower curtain sticking to you! Noisy fan.

Breakfast: Good standard Premier Inn breakfast with the benefit of a beautiful view.

QUESTION TO REGULAR PREMIER INN GUESTS: How do you (successfully) make room requests, e.g. for a particular floor or room with view or larger room? Please message me if you don't mind sharing the answer.

Booked 1 rooms for 3 nights as I was working nearby in Tring, very easy road access to nearby Tring and Aylesbury & London by main A41 dual carriageway. It is very easy to find and good sized car park and there is a good local pub that serves lunches and dinners at good price, also breakfast is served here; fresh fruit, cerials, cooked breakfast and continental breakfast. Reception staff were very warm and welcoming and booking in was quickly and efficiently done and rooms good and quiet. The rooms good sized and there is free internet for 30 mins and after this about £5 for 24 hours which is reasonable. TV were modern flat screen about 24 inch and had all freeview, only minus is that there are no gym facilities. The bathroom was spotless so no complaints there. The fan in the bathroom was a bit noisy and again the views of the hotel are bit boring over looking car park/s.

Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights as we were attending an exhibition in Aylesbury. Very easy to find and good sized car park so despite it being a Saturday night when we arrived there were still spaces to be found. Reception staff were very warm and welcoming and booking in was quickly and efficiently done. We were offered help with our bags as we were on the first floor but we didn't take them up on it. Our rooms were clean and tidy and although compact for a Premier Inn there was everything you could need and all close to hand. Lighting as usual was a bit poor in the main part of the room but this is a trait of Premier Inns and so not unexpected. The lights by the bed warmed up after a few minutes and so it became a little bit brighter and as there was the usual desklamp it would have been fine if you needed to do any work at the table. The bathroom was spotless so no complaints there. The fan in the bathroom was a bit noisy but not overwhelmingly so and didn't run on for hours and hours as some can do so that was fine. The water pressure was good so no complaints about the shower. We had rooms overlooking the car park, so not the great views others have had, but noise etc wasn't a problem either and it is a good location for a quiet night's sleep. Highly recommend and would stay again. Pub next door was excellent for dinner, didn't have breakfast there so can't comment. Staff very friendly and welcoming and overall an excellent stay.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back have good views apparently

When we booked we were warned that the rooms were smaller than average Premier inns. We had booked 5 nights to help our daughter move into her new house nearby. The staff were great, helpful and approachable. After eating one night in the attached restaurant we felt it was time for a change, they suggested a local Italian restaurant in Tring and booked it for us (Francesco's was brilliant). My only gripe was that the bed was hard and I woke up stiff in the morning. Breakfast's next door were plentiful. The only thing I wish is that they would not cook bacon on a griddle as it tastes the bacon.

All Premier Inn Hotels are are generally of the same good, reliable quality. The rooms here are clean and smart, and the staff are friendly and helpful, as you would expect from this hotel chain. With comfortable beds and modern bathrooms, nothing much else to add. There are not too many choices of hotel in this area, and this hotel is ideally located just on the edge of Tring town. A perfectly good place to stay.

Room Tip: Choose a rear room with views over the countryside, rather than the car park and road at the front o...

The hotel was ideally placed for an event we were attending. We checked in at 10p and the night staff (Jan-i think) was exceptionally pleasant. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable with soft pillows. The tea/coffee making facilities came in very handy. Breakfast in the restaurant was good value and the staff were helpful and pleasant. The car parking facilities were secure and bright.

This Premier Inn is in a great location, looking out over the Vale of Aylesbury from Tring Hill. We have stayed several times and always found the service to be excellent. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. The restaurant next door (The Crows Nest) is also very good for breakfast and dinner. The steak is top quality.
