“Outstanding as always”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014

We have visited the Bonchurch Inn on several occasions and it always exceeds expectations. Our latest visit was Saturday evening which was a really busy night but the staff just kept on going and the food was amazing. It amuses me that a previous review questions the life changing lasagne and another the suggests the crab is frozen - trust me the crab is fresh off the boat and the lasagne is the best meal you will ever have! The staff are lovely and the setting is unique - we love the Bonchurch Inn!

“Friendly average food, Italian? (No!)”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

This is a lovely local pub with incredibly friendly and accommodating staff, but the food lets it down. Believing the Italian spin we ordered the Antipasto. Salami, ham & pepperoni could have been Tesco. Crab and prawns were defrosted, no balsamic for the salad. Pâté was served with thick sliced white toasted bread. Main Course - steak and chips, Aunt Bessie's Home Style frozen are better, steak was not seared and was underdone, vegetables were extremely underdone but the Bonchurch Sauce was amazing, well worth the £4 per person. Wouldn't eat here again though.

“A gem of an inn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014 via mobile

Visited for a lunch with friends and could not have been made more welcome. As it was a sunny day we ate in the courtyard. The food was just wonderful , the best garlic bread ever followed by delicious fish main courses, two of us had sea food pasta which was packed with prawns, mussels and squid in a tasty tomato based sauce and two had prawns in a pernod sauce with veg and rice equally good. It was just like a taste of Italy on the IOW. We will return next time we are on the island.

“Superb little find”

Food was fantastic, freshly prepared top notch italian cuisine. Serving staff couldnt do enough to help, and the litle courtyard is a gem of a find.

“Great Pub - the old Brewery Tap”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014 via mobile

Superb Bombardier Bitter from barrel. Sweet and perfect as you could wish for. Steak was superb as was Adrian's special of rock salmon. Oh I forgot the Ventnor Bay crab starter. NOT CHEAP but then this IS special.
