When we were considering booking at Annie’s I read the other reviews and thought they were just too good. However having now stayed for two nights I am also going to add to the glowing references already made.
Annie’s B& B has three attributes, the superb quality of furniture and fixtures, the food, and Annie.
At our first greeting I could see that Annie is a person who enjoys people and is quick to relate to your personality and will also take an interest in your expectations for your holiday. She is methodical and ensures you are advised about the functioning of the house and overall makes you feel very welcome.
We were booked into room 7 which is at the rear of the building and on the top floor. Although we didn’t have direct views towards West Cowes we could see shipping to the left of our window. Our room had a decent sized bathroom with modern fittings and décor. The furniture in the room was of antique style and smart. The king size bed was firm and very comfortable. And we had a large opening window which we appreciated in the hot evening temperatures. As well as the usual tea and coffee in the room we had a range of herbal teas, biscuits and individually wrapped mints.
Breakfast was also a treat; again Annie was specific in explaining all options and ensuring she provided the best cuisine. There is a display chiller in the breakfast room with yogurts, bottled water and fruit in it. Even the yogurt removed for use is retained on ice packs on the breakfast buffet. Try her home made fruit in elderflower jelly as part of the fruit dish.
The only consideration to made in staying here is that the rooms are on 3 floors with High stud ceilings, if you do not like or cannot climb stairs then check on available rooms on the lower floors.
We were touring around the island on push bikes and as a bonus were pleased that we could stow them away safely at night at the back of the house.
Although Annie’s is in East Cowes we found that it was close enough to the chain ferry to enable us to walk to the shops and eateries in west Cowes for the evening.
I have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation and would certainly stay again.
