Fastnet week 2023
The apartment is very spacious, a large hall way is always useful with lots of adults, coats, beach towels, kit bags etc. The balconies offer amazing views, we were there there when the Fastnet boats were arriving so there was always something to see. The bathrooms were spotless, the grout and sealant were pristine, something I struggle to achieve at home! This is the only place I have ever stayed that supplied a week's supply of toilet paper for 5 adults, a good indication of the standard of care and attention to detail provided. There was also a very welcome litre of milk, a bottle of wine and a fully stocked cupboard of spices, condiments, tea and coffee as well as cleaning products. Everyone from Grandma to teenagers commented that the beds were very comfortable. Not so much the main sofa but the smaller one and the arm chairs were fine. There were plenty of serving dishes, plates, glasses and kitchen equipment for all of us, even when we had two extra guests for dinner. Altogether this is a superb apartment, very conveniently positioned with the added bonus in Cowes off road parking.

Fantastic Appt in great location with amazing views
We stayed in early August '22 as a group of 4 adults and 2 teenagers. The appt is stunning, huge and very well equipped. I would go as far as to say the photos don't do it justice. The front terrace balcony is particularly impressive with comfy outside furniture and the most spectacular view. The hosts are really helpful and the communication was first rate. Highly recommended.

Huge waterside apartment in West Cowes town
The apartment was beautiful with loads of space and everything you could need to hand. Instructions for how to enter and leave the property were very clear and there was a convenient parking space within the complex. The heating works very well, you simply turn up the thermostat in each room and heat comes through pipes behind the skirtings. However I would recommend turning each thermostat down before you go to bed, otherwise the heating cuts in and out during the night and makes clicking noises which wake you up! Best of all were the views and sunrises from the wrap around balcony. All day the ferries went to and from from Southampton but except for some small noise of loading when cars went up the ramp we were not at all disturbed by this and it is fun to watch the water traffic and yachts in the marina. The apartment is very convenient for lovely shops and restaurants in West Cowes inlcuding an M&S Foodhall and Sainsburys.

Wow, Wow, Wow
A fantastic apartment in central Cowes with great views over the water. The property is in great condition and equipped with everything needed including the little things that are sometimes missed such as lots of tea towels. There are some basics available such as tea, coffee, sugar, sauces, etc and fresh milk in the fridge plus a bottle of Prosecco. The TV in the main lounge is great as is the Wi-Fi and it is nice to see only one TV - none in the bedrooms. The views from the balconies are brilliant and you could spend all of your time just looking at the boat traffic. Remember to take binoculars with you. The lady who looks after the apartment (Sharon) was very helpful with directions, etc. The location is a four minute walk from central Cowes with all the restaurants, shops etc and there is Sainsburys, M&S Foodhall and Waitrose in walking distance. The only downside we found was only one set of door keys are provided which could be a problem if you have two groups of people who want some independence. Highly recommended, probably the best apartment we have ever stayed in and we are already looking to rebook for 2022.

Wonderful apartment with brilliant view
Apartment was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. Little touches were excellent such as fresh flowers, blankets for sitting outside. We would have loved to stay longer and enjoyed sitting on the balconies watching the view. Communication was excellent throughout. We hope to return again.

Excellent apartment
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful apartment which is in a fantastic position at the marina, only 5 minutes walk to Cowes Main Street and restaurants. The views over the Marina are lovely and there is ample outdoor space to enjoy the views and nice weather. The apartment is very well equipped and the vases of fresh flowers were a lovely touch. Sharon, our contact person who looks after the place, was very helpful and certainly keeps the place spotless. We would highly recommend a stay here if you visit the Isle of Wight and, should we decide to return, couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else. Warning for any light sleepers - it you stay in the bedroom at the front do not leave the patio window open for the breeze if it’s hot as the Red Funnel ferry starts very early and the announcements are very loud.

A fantastic apartment in a superb location
The apartment occupies the whole of the 3rd floor and is accessed via lift or stairs. The arrival and departure procedure was quick and simple. The accomodation is very spacious, with an entrance area, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a well appointed kitchen, a large dining area and a lounge area, but by far the best feature is its location - front line overlooking the busy Cowes Marina and the river Medina. There is a balcony off the lounge which is great for breakfast and a second much, much larger area accessed via the hall or one of the bedrooms which wraps around the side and front of the apartment facing the marina. I could spend hours watching the numerous yachts, cruisers and other boats go by. We even saw a cruise ship and a few tankers. Other than being on a boat, you are unlikely to get as close to the waterfront. The centre of Cowes with its numerous restaurants is a simple 5 minute walk away, and the secure private parking comes in handy after a day exploring the island. We tried several local restaurants including Mojacs, Jolliffes, Harbour Kitchen, Basque Kitchen, Pier View, Murrays, Corries Chippy and Coast and they were all very good. I'd recommend Jolliffes for breakfast and Mojacs for Dinner. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday in the apartment and it will be my first choice when we return to Cowes in the future.

Amazing
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing apartment. There was nothing we needed, everything you could imagine you needed was there. The apartment was like new, clean and beds were lovely. We loved people watching the people from the balcony, getting their boats ready to take their boats out. The IOW is also a lovely location. So much so we are thinking of buying a holiday home there.

Wonderful Apartment with Stunning Views
Mariners is situated in the heart of Cowes Marina and is an amazing apartment. The views from the two terraces are fabulous, and you could watch the action in the marina all day if desired. The apartment itself is extremely clean, spacious and light, the bedrooms are comfortable and the kitchen has everything needed should you wish to cook.... however Cowes it’s self has some wonderful eateries. Some lovely touches such as wine left for us was much appreciated, as was the milk. We shall defiantly return to this truly stunning apartment.

About the neighbourhood
Cowes and East Cowes grew from a huddle of fishermen's shacks around two coastal forts built by Henry VIII on opposite banks of the River Medina and named after the two off-shore sandbanks or cows. The towns are linked by an old-fashioned chain ferry and have a tradition of fine ship building, dating from the reign of Elizabeth I. Then came the yacht building industry, as sailing became a popular sport, endorsed by the royal family. In 1854, the Royal Yacht Squadron was moved into Cowes Castle, the former Tudor fort, and the name of Cowes has been synonymous with yachting ever since. Shopping in the narrow pedestrianised High Street is a delight, with some excellent shops, many catering for the yachting fraternity. The town also has an array of fashionable clothing shops, gift shops, delicatessens, cafes, restaurants and lively pubs. The high speed passenger catamaran service to Southampton is centrally located at Fountain Quay. Above the High Street and overlooking the Solent is Northwood House and Park. This classical style mansion was built in 1837 and given to the town in 1929, together with its 26 acres of grounds, which now provide public tennis courts, bowling greens, putting green and a children's play area. At the edge of the park stands St. Mary's Church, its landmark clock tower, designed by John Nash, was retained when the church was rebuilt in 1867. East Cowes is where you will find the magnificent Osborne House, former seaside holiday home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and preserved much as it was when the Queen died here in 1901. Nearby is St. Mildred's Church at Whippingham, where the royal family worshipped. Both buildings were designed by the Prince Consort.

This will be returned once our housekeeper has confirmed that there is no damage, that keys have been returned and that no unreasonable additional cleaning has been required.
