The bungalow is one of a group of nine similar bungalows at the far end of a quarter-mile private lane off the Freshwater-to-Yarmouth main road. Because of this, there is no traffic noise even though the bungalow is only a short distance from the island's main road network.
The location suited us because the main purpose of our holiday was to walk in the coastal countryside, for which Tennyson Down, Compton Down and Mottistone Down were less than 20 minutes drive from the bungalow.
The nine brick-built bungalows are situated in communal grassland overlooking The Solent. The bungalows are well-arranged so that they don't overlook each other.
Disabled people should note that, from outside, there are two big steps up into the bungalow.
Inside, the bungalow was well-designed, well-decorated, well-equipped, clean and comfortable. There was a view across The Solent through the french windows of the living room, and also from the bungalow's patio. Sometimes there were lovely sunsets.
