“Good availability, mediocre food.”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Every where else we tried was fully booked, there were spaces here now we know why.
The menu sounded really appetising, I had a sizzling steak very nice. Two pies of the day were ham soup with a shoe leather topping. Unfortunately they were served cold and had to be sent back to be heated. The potatoes were odd the vegetables buttery and the soup/pie salty. The cost was reduced because of the problems. We returned four glasses because they were dirty. Nothing the pub could do about it but there was a couple next to us who had to add f*****g into every sentence.
In summary one meal out of three was fine. The cider and wine were fine. The staff were helpful.

I had a couple of meals at The Vine while staying in Freshwater. Food was delicious and tailored to specific needs. Very friendly service. Lovely outdoor seating area.

“Good old fashioned pub grub.”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

The food was freshly prepared well presented. I was told the belly pork was great and my scampi was sufficient. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the four of us had a good time.

“Great Pub, Great Food, Dog Friendly”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Ate here twice whilst we were camping at Freshwater. The Beer is great, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We were able to take our dog into the bar in tbhe evening to eat an she was made a fuss of and given doggie biscuits on both times we visited. The food is of good quality, well cooked and very reasonably priced. We took advantage of both the burger evening and 2 lunches for £10 available during weekdays. Great beer garden. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. PS we have taken one of your paperbacks home as we are both reading it, but did come back in and replace with two others! Hope to be back soon. Thank you

“Three out of four meals were great!”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

The curry, pork belly and lamb rump were very good. Unfortunately the vege lentil chilli was disappointingly bare of veges. My husband described it as a good Dahl. Could have done with a tortilla or similar with it. Also we waited a very long time. Though we had been warned it would be a while. Would eat here again but avoid the vege option. Staff were friendly and jolly. Good ambience.
