“Glamp-tastic holiday!”
Reviewed 10 August 2013 via mobile

Just returned from a wonderful 4 night break. The yurt was really comfortable and decked out with comfy beds and cosy quilts. The site is so peaceful and set in beautiful countryside. Lovely views of the river Yar. The site manager, Ell-Jay, couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. The new shower block is lovely and the composting loos are nothing to be feared! Some great pubs and restaurants in Yarmouth or try the Red Lion for good pub grub just up the road.

Although not a camping fan I thoroughly enjoyed our fantastic break in yurt land which we have just returned from. We were 2 friends with 3 children between us who shared the largest yurt on offer. The new shower block opened the day we arrived and the facilities were excellent, constantly being added to as we were there. Ell-Jay, the site manager was always on hand to offer advice and was able to answer any questions.
The site was so peaceful and safe for children with lovely views over the River Yar. A world away from the brash IOW of Ventnor/Shanklin etc. A perfect spot. We sampled the Red Lion one evening and had a good meal and although we planned to walk into Yarmouth along the river another night we did actually drive in due to tired children but had an excellent meal in 'Salty's' .
The yurt was well equipped and very cosy especially with the wood burner going.
I would thoroughly recommend The Really Green Company for a super break especially if like us you are blessed with decent weather.
Thank you Ell Jay and Anthony for your kind attention x

We have just returned from a four night stay in Freshwater and had an absolutely lovely time. The location couldn't be better. Completely safe for our two year old to roam free and incredibly peaceful. Lovely surrounding walks and plenty of duck feeding and crabbing opportunities. LJ, site manager, couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful, our daughter adored her!
Sadly, the new shower block wasn't quite ready, but we look forward to testing them out when we most definitely return next year. Yes, we also had the world's squeakiest bed, but we just found it highly amusing! Many thanks to both LJ and Anthony for our lovely little holiday. We promise to spread the word!!

It was our first time staying in a yurt, and now i'm sure it won't be our last.
I found the Really Green Holiday Company a pleasure to deal with and great value for money. Our yurt was bright and spacious with beautiful views and overall a place with a great eco ethos full of character and charm.

Thanks for a wonderful time. Hope to be back again soon.

I've never left a review on any sites before but this place really deserves it. I couldn't have been made more welcome, right from the minute I got there, by the owner and L-Jay the really lovely and very helpful woman who manages the site and also by the lovely people who run the farm shop. It's a really well run business, with great attention to detail and a really relaxed feel. There was an amazing view from my yurt which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. My only regret is I could only stay for one night. Now I know where to take the family next time we make it to the Isle of Wight. Another bonus was that I was able to buy a really great picnic from the farm shop for my journey home. Although I only stayed one night, I was so well looked after and wouldn't hesitate to go back, given half an excuse.

Thanks for your kind comments Todd, we're glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you and Jess at some time in the future for a longer stay. It was great to meet you and examine your new cheese press, very impressive. We'd love to try your product! We'll pass on your kind comments to our friends at the Kings Manor Farm Shop/Bistro.

A welcome break from the hustle and bustle of London. It is clear that The Really Green Holiday Company is a campsite on the move. I can understand some of the frustrations of other people here, but to be honest if the only thing wrong with a campsite is squeeky beds (which I agree with) and tepid showers (true), then they aren't doing too bad.

The field was the perfect setting for the Yurts. Enclosed enough to allow a 5 year old and a 2 year old to run around until 9pm every day, and peaceful enough to allow them to sleep in until 8am. The fact they didn't want to leave said to me that we had found a perfect place.

Anthony like everyone says on here was incredibly helpful and friendly. Extending our stay by one night after a last minute change and booking ferry tickets. LJ, who was always on site and on hand, was brilliant. Always ready with a bit of advice and a discussion about the weather. It really felt more homely than we were expecting, and even with a pregnant wife we were able to easily navigate the perils of camping - coldness, damp, and inability to keep a fire going.

I would recommend this place to everyone who has an adventurous spirit and wants to experience the beautiful Isle of Wight.

This is the first time we've been 'glamping' and a very nice trip it was too. It's fair to say you're not going to get a five star hotel so the amenities and facilities are not going to be top notch but that's the reason to go camping in the first place surely?

The yurts were more than comfortable and spacious for a couple, although the bed was very squeeky and maybe the bedding a little tired. We decided to bring our own linen which made it a bit more homely. The log burner was a god send as thew yurt can get a little damp in the evening if the weather isn't perfect but once the fire got going it was more than adequate and once the door was closed it got quite toasty inside. It did rain quite heavily one night and there was a small puddle around the edge of the yurt in the morning but no other leaks we noticed and the yurts held up very well to the windy conditions.

Facilities are being improved but weren't quite up and running while we were there; a new shower/toilet block has been built recently to replace the current set up. This will be a bit improvement, especially when the site is full.

The communal dome area does exactly what it needs to do; two gas BBQs for boiling the kettle or for warming croissants in the morning. There are always thermos flasks of hot water for your morning cuppa and Ell-Jay (site manager) keeps everything ticking over by replacing candles, tea bags and emptying the loo bin.....not a job for the faint hearted. She also gave us a good tour when we first arrived, helped us with the bags and made sure we were ok with the log burner. Plenty of advice on hand on where to eat and visit.

Anthony (manager) made our booking process quick and easy even though it was a last minute booking and got us discounted tickets for the ferry.

All in all a very pleasant 'back to basics' trip where all we did was wander round the island and chill out.

We're really glad you enjoyed your stay but appreciate the feedback about the bed, the oil can and the screwdriver will be out today!
We hope the new improved Loo and Shower Block will be finished in ten days, sadly the bad weather at the start of the season caused us all sorts of problems but we're almost there now.
We hope to see you again sometime.
