We stopped in dairy cottage 1 this week. Heather & Mike are very welcoming. The cottage was spotless & homely, nice and warm and in beautifully peaceful surroundings. We enjoyed the play barn on a wet evening making use of the snooker table, pingpong table and giant trampoline. Sadly due to the wet weather we didnt get any use of the decked area outside.

Good kitchen area with cooker, hob, microwave, fridge with a freezer compartment. There was a washing machine, iron & ironing board. The firealarm worked a treat - so we opened the skylight when cooking just to be on the safe side. Water was plenty warm enough (tho it did take a little running to come through so be patient).
And I can confirm with previous reviewers that the eggs were full of lovely yolks mmm.

Bed was very comfy and there was lots of space to put clothes away.

Thanks very much, we had a fantastic time! Highly recommended.

I stayed in one of the dairy cottages for a weekend with my children and we had a wonderful time. The farm has plenty to explore for children and the owners Mike and Heather were really friendly as were their children. The cottage was well appointed and both very clean and comfortable. The cottage itself is conveniently located within a few minutes of the Freshwater ferry and the island itself is easily accessible. we would definitely return but for longer next time.

We had a great time at Mattingley Farm. We stayed in one of the dairy cottages which was well equipped and full of character. The play barn is fantastic, especially the trampoline and provided plenty of entertainment when the weather wasn't so good (and we don't even have kids!). We loved all the animals, but the pigs had to be our favourite. Heather and Mike were great hosts and couldn't have been more welcoming including giving us fresh eggs from their hens in the morning! This is a great base from which to explore the Isle of Wight and we will definitely be back.

As visitors to our UK family from our base in both the opulent Middle East and near to Hong Kong my small family and I loved the farm, our cottage and it's environment. In the early Spring we were entirely by ourselves (maybe 'pancakeboy' stayed at a different place as we arrived on 4th March and were veritable Lords of the Manor with the run of the whole place until April!). During our stay we tested every part of the Mattingley experience and were more than happy with the results. Mike, Heather and their delightful children made us feel part of the family and nothing was too much trouble. This included installing a wi-fi system so that I could keep in touch with foreign parts and help in buying a small run-around car, buying groceries, eggs from the farm chickens - really helpful! The cottage itself contained every amenity and was spotlessly clean with brand new carpets throughout. As a convenient place to explore the island we were more than happy and as a place to recharge our batteries without losing touch with our overseas bases Mattingley was/is an ideal location, including a place for my morning TaiChi and evening strolls though the numerous nearby public walkways - it reminded me of rural east Yorkshire 50 years ago - idyllic. No hesitation in recommending Mattingley. Rob, YaQin and baby Laurence

We stayed in dairy cottage 1. The cottage was spotlessly clean, well equipt and very comfortable (even better than the website portrayed). The farm was lovely, set in quiet idyllic country side. Give the pigs a good scratch(they love it!). We didnt have kids with us but if we had of they would of had a great time in the play barn (lots to keep them entertained). Being dog friendly our springer loved the near by country side walks. Our hosts Mike and Heather were lovely and we can honestly say we couldnt ask for more. They even supplied us with eggs from their chickens( which had the yellowist yolks weve ever seen). A lovely stay, we left totally relaxed and will definately be back. Exceptional value for money and highly recommended. Enjoy

Room Tip: Clean, cofortable and well equipt
