I have travelled the world and stayed in very high class hotels so this was a departure as a family holiday. If you expect the ritz you will be very disappointed. If you expect clean, well equipped, family accommodation you will love it. We stayed in no 32. The bungalow was well appointed and exactly as the hoseasons website led us to believe it would be. Bed linen was higher quality than I would have expected and beds were comfy. The bungalows are a short walk from a beautiful beach. The pool at the accommodation was clean and warm and never crowded. There were lots of day trips the kids enjoyed and plenty if places nearby to buy fish and chips or have a reasonably priced meal if you didn't want to cook. Brilliant family holiday. We shall consider a return visit.

This was the fourth time we'd stayed at the Island View Colwell Bay site. For the proximity to the fantastic, safe, clean, sandy beach at Colwell Bay itself you can't beat it and the site has some good amenities, especially the pool which we used a lot. The downside is that the 'cottages' (bungalows) themselves are showing their age now and despite the one we stayed in having obviously had a lick of paint and some bits of new flooring since our last visit, the kitchen and the bathroom are outdated and not particularly clean.
On checking in I was advised that there had been "a flood" in the bathroom, for which apologies were given. I'm not sure 'flood' was correct as the bathroom floor showed obvious signs of repeated water ingress which we discovered quickly was because the shower-screen was neither low enough to stop water running down and onto the floor nor long enough. The lino floor was very wrinkled and mouldy, the woodwork of the bath and skirting were mouldy and the floor itself was like walking on a sponge as it was so soft and squelchy, presumably because of the water which had leaked into it.
It is a shame that the shabbiness of the bathroom(s) detracts from the rest of the accommodation. The beds are comfy and the lounge/dining room are nice and spacious, there's wifi (paid after the first 100mb) and a flat-screen TV and DVD player. For the prices paid in high season/summer school holiday I would expect some effort to be made by the owners to sort out the bathroom and give the customer an acceptable standard of accommodation throughout.

Arrived after a long day travelling to check in and was told that the hot tub wasn't working at the lodge we had booked (we had specifically looked for a lodge with a hot tub on hoseasons and loved the idea of the coastal location) so we had the choice of staying there with £29 knocked off or moving to the other park (Rookley) in the middle of the island which had a hot tub.

A phone call to let us know that morning when they found out would have been nice and potentially saved some of the hassle it caused us!
We really struggled to make a decision as we were tired after an early start and on our first visit to the island didn't know what the areas were like, the other site also didn't provide towels or a BBQ, again big plus points of this site.

We eventually got them to agree that we could reserve the lodge at the other site until the next morning and sleep on it, we went to check it out and decided to transfer across, sadly having wasted a morning of our holiday to do this and purchasing throw away BBQ's to use (we got them to give us some towels, although they did need reminding)

The other site was actually lovely, just sadly not a walk from the coast, unfortunately the staff at the Colwell site, particularly the man, were rather rude and unfriendly.

We complained to Hoseasons on our return, mainly as we wanted reimbursing for the cost of the BBQ's and after a month the site had not replied to them, showing how much they care about customers!

In the short time we were there the accomodation was a bit dated and in need of a more thorough clean, go for Rookley if using this company!

Lovely place to stay, although there are small issues in the bathroom through poor choice of shower door & nobody clearing up after themselves, it was clean! & funny enough we didn't spend our holiday in there : ) shower worked I was happy. The kids did use their pool a lot, which was lovely & the beach, less then a 5 min walk. Overall a VERY nice place to stay, relaxing if you want it to be, took my own little BBQ so it was private enough to do but also sociable to met neighbours. I would love to go again( but I would take my own pillow next time, nothing like your own )

Just got back from a weeks holiday staying in cottages 3 and 4 we paid a fair amount as we were in the Summer holidays we were sold luxury accommodation we were a party of 9 we were very disappointed in the refurbished!!!!! Kitchen and bathroom as they were both very tired and not the cleanest lots of cigarette butts along the side path of our cottage, on the way to the hub tub which was nice but no real garden furniture to relax on or a view to look out on. We were blessed with the weather so that was great out everyday as didn't want to stay around the park. Would not recommend this park if your looking for luxury.

Lovely location, literally a few minutes walk from beautiful Colwell Bay which is a 'blue flag' beach, perfect for families. We found the cottage compact & the living room & bedrooms well provided for with modern, comfortable furniture. The bathroom, however looking a little tired & needed renovating to keep to the standards elsewhere in the accommodation. Unfortunately, despite providing a good compact dishwasher there was only 4 items provided of cutlery & crockery so consequently it was easier to wash these than use the dishwasher too often. The pool was good & we found the tennis courts excellent - always available to use & balls & rackets all provided. The staff were friendly & helpful. A little more attention to detail would bring this accommodation up to an excellent category!
