“Bank Holiday Bonus Hut”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

Torrential rain? It's got to be an august bank holiday ... We booked, perversely, knowing it was going to be a washout- what better to do than head off for a slap- up lunch? I reckon you can tell a lot about a beach restaurant from the the way it deals with dank weather - customers will be fractious, roofs may be leaky, dogs will be smelly ....
Well it was business as usual at The Hut, and the joint was jumping. Staff were cheery, steak and seafood delicious, and the rosé slipped down a treat. Puddings could do with a bit of work though.
There's a gorgeous outside area for drinking in the sun , for those who time things properly, weather wise, with rows of wine cases stuffed with home grown herbs .A tender service for visiting yachties is mentioned on the website - I'm saving that for next summer ...

“Cold reception”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

Lovely place, but unfortunately the staff were very frosty, sat at table for over 20 mins, without the waiter/waitress coming over. Ended up leaving - On a previous visit I was informed that the place had been set up for the "London Crowd" not sure of the difference to be honest with you, bit to pretentious not a place I would recommend.
Nothing special - just the usual beach side restaurant - Hut.

“LIVELY and buzzing....”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

Wasn't recommended this restaurant by the hotel we were staying in, surprising, we were recommended elsewhere - lucky we knew about it in advance.... Another fabulous find. Food absolutely superb, service good and they were very busy. Wonderful sea views and although it is expensive I believe worth every penny spent. I turned up with not enough money to pay, they were fine about this and I came back following day to pay and grabbed a decent coffee at the same time. Next time we will come back by boat.....

“Fab bar”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

Thus is a great little bar/restaurant right on the beachfront. Drank here several times overlooking Hurst Castle and the Solent, very friendly and comfortable. Didn't eat here but the menu and food looked really good.
