“A bracing walk along Colwell Bay and Totland Bay”

We were staying for a few days at the nearby Colwell Bay Holiday Cottages and went for a walk to Colwell Bay and then continued westwards to Totland Bay. As it was out of season there wasn't much happening at either location but we did manage as a result of our walk to build up an appetite for dinner.

What a fantastic place. Stayed for 4 notes with my partner stepson and dog. Clean and fresh nice beds we had a alum cottage and can't fault it at all. Friendly staff and helpful. Nice beech 5mins away. We definitely booking again for next year

We live just a stones throw away from the beach. It has a great little beach shop that isn't too over priced, and a newly refurbished cafe.

Towards the Fort side of the beach, you will find a prehistoric oyster bed, where you can search and scrabble for fossils. If you're lucky you may also find tortoise shells as well, and rare ruby red sea glass.

In the Summer it's very busy, but the Autumn is a great time to visit, and walk to Fort Victoria via the beach and coastal footpath.

Very peaceful beach early evening in September and wonderful sunsets. Part of the beach walking path was closed off as a section of it had collapsed into the sea.

Great little beach - nice walks either side and a great view to sea with plenty of boats to watch. 3 or 4 little shops and a café, but with strange opening hours!
