We live just a stones throw away from the beach. It has a great little beach shop that isn't too over priced, and a newly refurbished cafe.

Towards the Fort side of the beach, you will find a prehistoric oyster bed, where you can search and scrabble for fossils. If you're lucky you may also find tortoise shells as well, and rare ruby red sea glass.

In the Summer it's very busy, but the Autumn is a great time to visit, and walk to Fort Victoria via the beach and coastal footpath.

Very peaceful beach early evening in September and wonderful sunsets. Part of the beach walking path was closed off as a section of it had collapsed into the sea.

Great little beach - nice walks either side and a great view to sea with plenty of boats to watch. 3 or 4 little shops and a café, but with strange opening hours!

Stayed at Colwell Bay cottages in Sept 2014, just hubby and myself in a Yarmouth Cottage with Hot tub. What a lovely spot, a few minutes stroll to the beach at Colwell, and a 10 minute walk along the coastal path to Totland Bay another unspoilt bay. Out cottage was a real home from home, cozy, well equipt and a lovely welcome pack, the likes of which we have never experienced before, a very nice touch, thank you. cottage was clean, with a patio at the front for morning coffee and a garden with hot tub at the back for relaxing. Linzi at reception thank you for your warm and friendly welcome also your local knowledge you made us feel very much at home.
We only had 2 nights and did not want to leave so soon, we would return and deffinately recommend to others - well done !
