“Headland walking with views.”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Visited based on TripAdvisor reviews. Caught the breezer bus up to the needles battery and walked to Freshwater Bay. The walk was 4 to 5 miles. The views were lovely, but in my opinion they dont rival other views I have seen such as overlooking the mawddach estuary from cregannen lakes in wales some other North Wales mountain views, St Abbs head coastland in Scotland etc. If you enjoy walking then youll love it. Take a drink with you to keep hydrated. There is a car park closer to the Tennyson monument at the top of the walk, take the road up past the Highdown Inn. My 4.5 month pregnant wife might have been a bit happier if id driven her here to start the walk from.

“The most amazing views”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

One of the few places in southern England where the views can rival the magisterial landscapes of Scotland, the North or Wales. Absolutely stunning place, wonderfully looked after by the National Trust. Chalk cliffs at their most impressive - more so than Beachy Head, Seven Sisters or Dover we felt.

“The Beautiful Tennyson Down”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Starting of at Freshwater Bay a gentle meander up to The Tennyson Monument. Stop a while and enjoy the breath taking views. Careful though it is so easy to get drawn in and go a little further. The views are to behold and nothing to disturb the peace but the beautiful sound of the nesting sky larks. Before you know you have reached The Needles. More amazing views and plenty to inform and enjoy. And now for the return journey. Fulfilling and a great sense of a achievement.

Stayed just 5 minute walk from the down which gave a number of pleasant evening walks with the dog. Beautiful panoramic views.
