A modern hotel with nice size rooms and a nice comfortable bed. Quiet at night. Pool and showers an added extra we all had fun in. We ate in the brasseri which was excellent. A great find if you want a modern hotel with good food with a nice outlook. Breakfast great too. We would certainly go back.

Room Tip: Ask to overlook the lake at the back of the hotel

What a great place to unwind. The light, airy atmosphere inside, compliment the tranquile location of the outside. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful no matter what time of day. We dined at breakfast and dinner and found the standard of the food to be excellent.
We had the pleasure of chatting to the owner, Terry, on more than one occaision, an enthusiastic host with oodles of personality tied with a passion for providing what people want. He leaves the day to day running to his son, whilst still showing a keen interest in how all the wheels are turning. We felt that meeting Terry was and added bonus to an already pleasurable experience.
We will definitely return.

I really like this place. I have been several times and will definately go back. The food if anything is getting better, which I didn't think possible. The Fine Dining is excellent value and stunning quality. I don't think my taste buds have ever been so happy. The gardens are coming along and every time I go they have developed another part. The spa is lovely and relaxing, the views of the lake and general ambiance make it a real break.

I definately recommend it.

We would like to thank all staff for making our saturday wonderful. We decided to treat ourselves and have lunch and use the spa facilties at lakeside. We had two courses for only £12.00 each, the food was wonderful and with a glass of wine and a lovely view what more could you ask for. We then spent the rest of the day using the spa facilities that the hotel has to offer. Very relaxing. The only thing i would say i would of loved a cup of tea in the afternoon, but hey not a major problem really. Once again thank you for a lovely day and we will definately see you soon. This is a lovely new 44 room hotel, in an ideal very quiet location, just 1 mile form the WightLink Car Ferry Terminal at Fishbourne. The facilities were stunning! Excellent breakfast overlooking the 20 acre lake, acres of grounds to explore, absolutely superb large indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and Sauna included in the room tarriff and Spa treatment rooms available too at extra cost, if booked early enough. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, the staff very polite and helpful and the parking secure. We loved it all.

This is the second time we have stayed here this year and we will look forward to another visit. Absolute tops. By far the Best Hotel on the Isle of Wight!

Visited Lakeside for a wedding reception, the service from arrival onwards was impeccable. Glasses of Pimms and a non alcoholic cocktail were available, along with waiters serving tasty canapes of individual fish n chip cones, smoked salmon, prawns and a veggi option. Dinner was served in the function room, again with very slick waiter service. I have to say the chicken Caesar salad was stunning, my husband enjoyed his parfait served in a tiny cup. Mains were beautifully set out. For dessert I had the creme brulee, which tasted heavenly - and didn't need to have raspberry ice cream served with it !!

The accomodation was below expectations. Poor level or no room and corridor cleaning, no ironing board or iron in room and requests for ironing board and iron ignored.Broken wardrobe runner and missing drawer. No refrigerator in room. Complimentary items were not routinely renewed and had to be requested. eg shower gel, bottled water. Seemingly overt signs of cost cutting. A request to speak to a manager was dealt with via a receptionist who relayed a phone message from the manager that hey were too busy to deal with our request.
Restaurant was excellent with very well prepared food and polite, friendly, professional and pleasant staff.
Spa was nice and well kept.

Room Tip: As for a lake view. Take your own lap top

Based on all our on line comments and the fact the hotel is only 3 years old, and I have to add we are the islands newest and highest graded 4 star hotel. we have never had any negative comments on the standards of our accommodation. In fact the AA inspectors rate our cleanliness of all areas very high.

With regard to items missing from rooms, we have never had and never advertised as having Irons, Boards or Refridgerators in bedrooms. we keep irons and boards for people to use if needed but in certain cases if all are being used then some guests have to wait until they become free. we have certainly never ignored our guests requests.

Yes, toiletry items should have been replaced, along with complimentary mineral water and the fact that they weren't was an oversite and the housekeeper has been made aware of this issue.

cost cutting is a fact of life in business, but only when necessary and we certainly never cut costs with relation to guest amenities and products like toiletries. we supply everyday usually, even for those guests who just want them to take home.

thank you for taking the time to write your comments, we take all comments seriously, either positive or negative.
