“Very good but .... ”
Reviewed 17 April 2014 via mobile

Hotel is placed on the lake with the main road off to the side not shown in the official photos, however very quiet no disturbance from the road at all. Rooms were also very well insulated with comfortable beds and good standard en suite bathrooms. Deluxe Lakeview room could take a z bed as requested however did not leave much free space. The staff are very helpful and exceptionally polite. The but comes as follows .. This is a 4 star hotel I think it must be mainly due to its spa. There appeared to be no portering services definitely no concierge and we had "fun " manipulating one of those very large trollies for luggage. No one in reception offered to do this for us and watched as we struggled. At breakfast it was ALL buffet service you even have to get your own tea coffee and toast. No selection of eggs just scrambled ! Nothing very imaginative about breakfast, nothing cooked to order. Saying that all very well cooked if you like your hot breakfast stewed under a metal lid ! I did mention this twice to reception staff and they all seemed surprised that this was how breakfast was served and said they would mention it ! We stayed at a similar priced 4 star in jersey recently and all the above plus a fantastic cooked to order breakfast was provided. At just over £190 B&B per night we did expect the niceties to be included.
We would go back, it's not a luxury 4 star may be it is for the iow, It was our first time so we have no comparative. It's functional clean great location just doesn't have that extra touch of luxury we are used to

We chose to upgrade to a lake view room, which was a very reasonable small charge, and really enjoyed the lovely view.

Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious and the bathroom was luxurious.

We had a lovely short break, helped by gorgeous weather, lots to do on the island and would definitely stay at the Lakeside Hotel again.

I was here for a few days over the weekend for a wedding, A very beautiful place in perfect surroundings. The rooms was excellent and I couldn't fault them, very modern decor and facility's. We ate here both for the wedding and the night before, the food in the Brasserie was superb the buffet style breakfast was by far one of the best I have had. The meal that was catered for the wedding was also very nice. The surrounding area of the hotel is very beautiful with a large lake with decking area. this was the perfect location for a family wedding and would recommend The Lakeside to every and anybody.

Room Tip: rear rooms have a beautiful views of the lake and countryside.

We booked a two night break, with dinner on one night. We were so impressed with the standard of our meal, we booked the second night too. The food was delightful, service was impeccable and both evenings were of such value I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone.
The staff are so very helpful and accommodating, particularly in the restaurant, where no request is too much trouble, where service is carried out with a genuine smile and the waiting staff are knowledgable about the menu and wine list.
The rooms were very comfortable, with everything of good quality in them and we slept like tops here!
The whole experience made our trip to the IOW fun and we would always book here again.
To be honest, the owners of the Lakeside Park have done a grand job at providing a lovely, relaxing fine dining experience, backed by an amazing team of staff!
Thanks guys!

Last minute booking through Secret Escapes for 2 nights. The outside of the hotel doesn't have much character, however you don't look at the outside when you are inside! Inside the hotel is modern and relaxing with views over the lake. Staff very helpful and welcoming. We were in room 14, which was a ground floor room and the last before the spa. The room was a good size and there was a small patio area with table and chairs for our use. We were greeted in the room by a chilled bottle of Prosecco. Dinner on the first night came as part of the package, as did a 20 minute massage. Dinner was excellent, service just right - not too intrusive, but attentive at the right times. Buffet breakfast was also excellent and plenty of choice. The spa staff were very friendly and the massage was one of the best I've had in a long time. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again.

I've passed the entrance to this place many times whilst on the Isle of Wight.

Have to say it's the best hotel I've used on the IOW. The room was spacious and clean, good pillows, TV that has a sleep timer :). Tea/Coffee & Biscuits supplied.

Bathroom was fine (although it took a while to fill the tub).

We ate in the Brasserie and the meal was superb and reasonably priced.

Wow, I've never had a treatment like it. You lay on your front and these different aromatherapy oils are dripped onto your back and then your feet. It smells so good and afterwards you feel so amazing. I can't explain it but the oils called doTERRA are supposed to be healing and I felt like I was walking on a cloud all day and slept so well :-)
