We stayed here for two nights and would return for the food alone. It was first class. On both evenings we had the £19.95 set menu which was excellent value for money. There was a choice of three starters, three mains and three desserts and the choices were completely different on the second evening.

The setting is idyllic by the lake and the rooms well appointed and peaceful (even with the windows open).

The staff were welcoming and friendly and the only reason for the four star rating, as opposed to five, is because the duvet was far to heavy and hot for the time of year so we did not sleep well as we were far too hot even though the bed was very comfortable.

We did not use the spa facilities.

Would thoroughly recommend for a special occasion and would be a magnificent venue for a summer wedding.

Room Tip: All rooms are good but may be worth paying extra for a lake view

This restaurant is really worth trying. When we were there it had a wedding reception and a Hen party in full swing, and they were still 'on the ball'
A three course set lunch is around £20 and is expertly presented and well cooked, although my mackerel fillet / beetroot starter looked better than it tasted. The roast beef and the roast pork were excellent. Service is very attentive, until surprisingly when you come to pay the bill. This has to be paid at the bar after contacting the waiter and who will provide you with a bill to sign with your room number if your a guest at the hotel, but if you want to pay you have to present this bill to the bar to pay. Very strange and in the rush any tip unfortunately got left off. Something the hotel should really address.
Overall this is a good place to eat with plenty of parking, great views over the lake and good food at a competive price.

We highly recommend The Lakeside Park Hotel if you want to have the perfect wedding day. Beautiful setting and impeccable staff. Everything we could have hoped for and more. Nothing was too much trouble, the day was faultless. We cannot thank them enough for making our day memorable for all the right reasons. So accommodating, food was wonderful, service was perfect and our guests were all very happy - I recommend room with a lake view - simply beautiful. Thank you all so much.

Arranging a wedding (for my daughter and her fiance - now husband), on an island when you do not live on it, is no easy task. Stephen Lee, Heather Cousins and their team did a super job with us and our daughter, who lives on the island. Every help was extended, ideas taken on board and executed efficiently. And we were pleasantly surprised at the affordability of it all.

The venue lends itself indoors and outdoors to England's varying weather. It is a spot of natural beauty and easy to get to once on the island. The food is excellent, even when produced for large numbers. We have eaten there several times in the course of the year and it has always been excellent. What I loved most was the pleasantness of the staff and how they all work well as a team.

We had several guests staying at the hotel - most over 2 nights, and every room was comfortable, well decorated, air conditioned and thoughtfully arranged. The spacious surroundings, lakeside walks, well stocked bar, great breakfast, and of course the spa facilities (of which the pool, sauna and Jacuzzi are complimentary) helped everyone feel relaxed.

There were a few mix ups in allocating rooms but it was all sorted out to everyone's satisfaction.

All in all, thank you Lakeside for contributing to what was a super wedding with lots of fun and good memories. Thank you for making my daughter and her husband feel so special.

I am not a fan of old and tatty therefore I've always been picky when travelling on Isle of Wight, because all of its hotels are reputed as being old and tatty.

But then I found Lakeside Park hotel and I took my other half to celebrate her birthday there over the weekend. What a treat!!! Thumbs up for everything; location - beautiful wild life site near the lake and woods, calm and tranquility, antidepressant (even when it's raining outside!); premisses - modern, sleek, clean and well maintained; room - spacious, clean, quiet with all amenities of a 4-Star; restaurant - excellent quality food, nice offer of drinks; and above all the STAFF - proactive, friendly, welcoming, always happy to help! No wonder, since they are lead by example by the GM himself who welcomed us in the morning for breakfast and served us at the table, checking on us of we had been taken care of to our liking. Yes, sir! And thank you for such a wonderful stay! We'll see you soon!

Room Tip: Rooms on the lake (for a decent fee worth upgrading to Exec room with a view and patio)

We stayed here on a Secret Escapes package for my 70th birthday. This is an excellent well-run hotel. The staff are extremely courteous and do everything to make sure you have a perfect stay. The Spa is well equipped and offers many treatments. We had neck, shoulder and back massage which was very relaxing and refreshing. The English Breakfast is well presented, serving good quality sausages, bacon etc. We had two delicious evening meals and my birthday evening was made rather special when the dessert was served. The setting beside the lake is romantic and relaxing. We had a ground floor room overlooking the lake with terrace and table and chairs. All in all a superb hotel and location and would thoroughly recommend this wonderful experience.

Room Tip: A lakeside room without a doubt. Rooms are very well equipped and modern with tea/coffee/biscuits. B...
