“Cheap Accomo & Fantastic Tuesday Curry Night”

Was lucky enoght to find this gem slap bang in centre of town, a functioning pub, Hotel & food to boot! The ritz it aint but at the prices charged its clean & comfortable, nicely located, suitable for business stop over, small parties, weekend stop overs to enjoy the scenics of the isle of wight, & best of all when i breezed in to Town the Chef was having 'Curry & A Pint night' Tuesdays, what could be better, warmed the cockles of me heart accompanied with some lively conversation with other bar patrons, big thumbs up!

Room Tip: if stopping weekends get a room at back of the premises away fromthe high street, but not that major...

Nice bar with tvs to watch sports but the main bar waitress is moody. They cook nice food and the pub is generally nice.

The rooms aren't very big and also the shower doesn't run hot water and there is no lock on the toilet door!

Lovely place and friendly staff, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE install electric power showers. If you're unfortunate enough to be in the shower when another guest in the Hotel uses the hot water tap, you will be left high & dry! Apart from that, nice traditional sports bar. :-)

Room Tip: If you are sensative to to people drinking and making noise, get a room away from the bar, they are...

We decided to have a two week Vacation in the Uk and to Visit Queen Victorias Home on the Isle of Wight when we found this gem called the Crown Hotel in a Town called Ryde .
We had read some bad reviews on TA about the place but as we were keeping the cost of our trip down we decided to give it a shot and oh boy are we glad we did.

First its not really a Hotel and to be honest if you read the Web Site it does say this, its what the Brits call a Inn so no fancy stuff in the rooms but they were clean, roomy good TV and free wifi for getting e-mails back home.
There was a good restraunt where a English breakfast was less than $3 dollars and on the Sunday we tried there Carvery which was less than $8 dollars ,as a beef eater I have to say it was really tasty Their Menu is really varied and good value.
Its location in the centre of the town is great and their selection of beers and largers is the best weve seen.
We had a great time, good room, good food, and found the staff more than helpful for getting around the Isle of wight ,so would we reccomend it ,sure we would, at $75 bucks a night for two in a en-suite room ive paid more for a bad motel in the US.

Room Tip: Our room was 6 at the rear very quiet

Me and my husband stayed here for one night we drove down in the car from Nottingham and just needed to stay somewhere for one night!! We parted with 50 pounds and received a double bed that was lumpy and low to the floor a bathroom down the corridor a sink with old used dried up soap no furniture in the room a kettle plugged in in the floor with no cups or coffee sachets!! We did have a tv though I didn't enjoy searching for a signal!! Now the hallway was full of old junk piled everywhere!! Last but least we didn't even stay in the room we slept in the car outside!!! Do not go to this place far better hotels !!!

Stayed for the weekend at The Crown Hotel ( although pointed out by staff that it's a former hotel but now a restaurant and public house with accomodation ) just wanted to say what a fantastic time we had, the rooms were nice, not amazing but decent LCD TV with freeview and clean, the shower was a bit slow but it's an oldish building, we got three nights for the price of two on a weekend special and breakfast was only a couple of quid for a full English, the bar was lively and the people there were very pleasant, couldn't believe we could get away for three nights for just over a hundred quid for two people, staff were very nice and chatty and the best thing was having your own door key so you had 24 hour entry to your room allowing you to go out and return late which we did most nights.

Would recomend Ryde for a quick get away to anyone as the town was very nice with plenty of shops in the daytime and transformed into restaurants and bars in the evening, we had a lovely meal on the seafront which is also so beautiful when you walk along the beach, all within walking distance of our accomodation and what was also nice was sitting in the alfresco area at the front of the Crown enjoying a coffee in the morning watching the world go by, the Isle of Wight is a fantastic place and we look forward to coming back next year thankyou to everyone in Ryde who made our stay so enjoyable !!!

Room Tip: Our room was good but was quite a walk from the front door, we stayed at 12 so I'm guessing choo...

The hotel is very well placed in the central location. However, the hotel staff cares and respects least to the customers. Besides, the bar is in the ground floor, which will be crowded over night and is extremely noisy to have a nap throughout the night.

In addition, the hotel rooms are too small with no phone to call the reception, television with no remote, hot water works occasionally. Beds are terrible with non closeable windows and doors.

My advise for travelers of Isle of wight would be to try booking hotels at Sandown beach front area.

Room Tip: All rooms are horrible.
