“Cosy Retreat”

This was our first trip to the Isle of Wight and were made to feel very welcome by Gilly and Dave. The Lodge is set in a beautiful tranquil garden surrounded by nature....it was heaven! The Lodge was equipped with everything we needed and was very clean and cosy. The wet room was excellent and just want to say a BIG thanks for the heated towel rail! We have stayed in many self catering places that do not have one and there is nothing worse than smelly damp towels towards the end of your holiday! Our weather for the week was excellent and we made good use of the barbecue provided and also the garden swing chair. We would spend most evenings sat out listening to the birds and were even lucky enough to see a red squirrel. Gilly and Dave were always on hand with their local knowledge and thanks to Gilly I have put on half a stone from all the local restaurants / cafe's she recommended! We will be sure to mention this haven to our friends and family and also plan to visit again ourselves one day.

“Beautiful Lodge set in beautiful grounds.”
Reviewed 20 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The Lodge is home from home the decor is lovely with everything you need for a stay on the island. On arrival we were greeted by Gill who you felt you'd know forever and a greeting from Bali the dog as we passed down the steps to The Lodge. The Lodge itself has a lovely decking area with swing seat also BBQ, table and chairs for lovely evening BBQs.
The bedroom in the lodge has a very comfy bed giving me a whole week of unbroken sleep thank you so much Gill. The wet room was lovely and clean with a rack to put your shower essentials in so they were to hand. Never used a wet room before now think I might like one. Kitchen well equipt from tin opener to wine bottle opener lovely choice of colour scheme too. The lounge area had fold away table and chairs if you wanted to eat inside. There was a flat screen wall mounted TV and also a very comfy L shaped sofa facing out towards decking area which was lovely as we were able to have the bi folding doors wide open during our stay and sit in or out.
During our stay we had a few BBQs and Gill and Dave were on hand with some tools to use as there weren't any in The Lodge but it was no problem all we had to do was ask. Late afternoon when the sun moved we vacated to the sunny area by the steps we took the iron chairs with use and then Dave appeared with some lovely sun loungers for us to use.
At the bottom of the garden is a fenced of pond with some huge fish in there are two sets of seats in there sun in the morning one end for coffee and sun in afternoon/evening for a glass of wine at the other end.
The lodge is within walking distance of Ryde along the pathway which we did one evening both ways until Dave told us how to cut across the field and halved the distance.
It's a lovely base for exploring the Island we did loads but still got loads to go back for, we didn't even get to Rosemary's Vineyard which is only a short walk up the lane and we are told is lovely.
I could go on forever but in short The Lodge, Gill, Dave and Bali are one of those secret hideaways not to be missed and we will be back.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
Tina & Dave

A great place to stay, Gilly and Dave are lovely and very helpful. The Lodge is very comfortable and makes you feel at home. We had an amazing week and had a great couple of BBQs at the Lodge. Me and my wife would highly recommend the Lodge to any couple staying in Ryde. We would definitely go back.

“Lovely lodge”
Reviewed 25 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Driving down an unmade road we arrived at our destination. The owners greeted us warmly and showed us the lovely garden and our lodge, which was very cosy and modern. Everything you could possibly need for our stay was provided.
The TV wasn't working and the owner came immediately to fix it.
Unfortunately it rained every day so we didn't get the chance to enjoy the garden. Would definitely recommend this lovely lodge to family and friends. The owners make you feel right at home and are always on hand to help.

“The best stay in the Isle of Wight Ive ever had”
Reviewed 4 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

This was my 5th time to the Isle of Wight my partners first.

Both of us were made up with this stunning location, stunning accommodation and stunning owners of the Lodges. I have never been made feel so at ease, so welcomed and helped. But not in an over bearing manner. We was made to feel at home.

The Lodge was a dream everything and more within, it was warm and soo homely and furnished for comfort.

We will definately be going back and cant wait to re book.

The local vineary is literally 2 minute walk and has a lovely cafe.

We also went to the local pub The Wishing Well for a quiz night and home made food. Again made to feel welcome by the locals. Absolutley alround lovely.

“ Lodge”
Reviewed 2 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Where to start! The lodge is a beautiful getaway, very nicely decorated, comfy bed! all the little things to the big things you need all there! Home from home! The heaters heat the lodge up very quickly, often had to turn them Down or off! Great shower, hot water as you need! garden is very well kept and great to still in and chill out! Good location just 5/10 mins out of ryde! Couple who run it are lovely! Me and my other half will be staying here again without a doubt! Recommend this to any couple who want to get away for a break/short hoilday!
