We had a great time at Appleysands with our sons aged 10 months and nearly 3 years. The owner met us there on arrival and was very friendly, and the bungalow was clean, nicely decorated, and well stocked.
The kitchen had all the equipment we needed (barring things like our bottle steriliser which we brought with us), and on arrival we found tea, biscuits, a pint of milk, salt, pepper etc. We went to a massive Tesco store about 10 minutes drive away, and we were all set for our stay.
Our toddler loved the play shed outside and was more than happy to spend time in the garden pulling various toys out of the shed. The only thing we felt was missing is a large ball / football for a kickabout! There was also a good range of books, games, and puzzles in the sideboard cabinet in the living room so even when we were indoors, he wasn't bored at all.
The only downside, for us, was the wooden floors throughout the bungalow. At this age, our older son runs around all the time, and the younger one is cruising and constantly falling over, so a bit of carpeting or large area rugs wouldn't have gone amiss! Of course, this is quite specific to this age so not something I expect to be catered for necessarily.. Also the cot bed provided is one of those travel ones with the super-thin base.. we ended up not using it as it felt so hard and lumpy, but I think with an extra (proper) mattress it would be usable. This is not unlike cot beds we've been provided in hotels etc to be fair though. The beds and bedding in both rooms were lovely.
There was also lots of information left in the property including leaflets for local takeaway/delivery services etc which came in handy for the first night when we couldn't be bothered to cook.
We went on the Isle Of Wight Steam Train which was a good outing for the boys - about an hour in total for the whole round trip, and the usual variety of livestock visible in fields outside en route. Again, our toddler loved it.
The beach is walking distance from the property, but the route involves a very steep, long, slope. It was fine on the way down but pushing pushchairs (occupied) back up it took a LOT of effort. Maybe we're not fit enough :) .. after the first walk, we drove back to the beach next time and paid to park along the beach front. There's also a little water play park by the beach for under 7s. The beach itself was nice, with some nice sandy parts and a lot of pebbly patches closer to the water.
All in all, we had a great time and would definitely go back. The bungalow next door is owned by the same couple so if you had a larger group or separate families, it would be nice to book both and still all be close.

The house itself was clean, well kept and beautifully decorated. It contained everything we needed for our long weekend away and plenty of toys/games to keep the children busy. The garden was a nice size and the outdoor play shed was an added bonus.
The nearby beach was perfect, lovely and sandy with a great cafe (dell) nearby.
I'm sure we will return to the property again in the future.
