My sister booked at fairly short notice for a party of 14 attending a family funeral. Booking was for 7.30 we were advised not to be late. When we got there, the back room was set up for the party (good). No menus - someone with a mobile phone had to take a picture of the menu chalked over the bar. Fortunately we had 3 barmaids and a waiter in our party, as we very much had to serve ourselves. Food was sufficently good, but not everything on the chalkboard was available. When we had finished the main course and enquired about puddings, we were told that the kitchen had closed. One of the guests (acting waiter) was told off by the chef for making him miss the first half of the football match being televised that night (England v Uruguay?). Not sure if they took the booking solely because the owner knows my dad. The chef did manage to get all the food out between watching the match. We were fortunate that our young people pitched in as wait staff though.
Apparently England lost.
Have eaten here before, food is usually OK.
