Within walking distance of Yarmouth, this is a comfortable, convenient and well equipped little house. Yarmouth is a busy little port. It has a small supermarket that is well stocked (or there are a couple of larger supermarkets within 20 minutes or so). If eating in Yarmouth (and probably most places on IOW) it is probably worth booking - as we often found the restaurants very busy. Also, to eat in Yarmouth, you should probably plan to walk in or park in the river side car park - which is free after 6pm - as there is not likely to be any other available parking. This isn't really a problem as the village/town is very small. The house has practically everything you could need and has evidently been bolstered from time to time at guests' requests, if ever found lacking. The owner is very (patient :)) and helpful with arrangements in advance.
IOW itself, is very pretty and green and has lots of interesting and quirky things to see, not to mention beautiful walks along the coasts, downs and woods. This was my first visit. I particularly recommend Mottistone Gardens and Ventnor Botanical Gardens.
I would recommend this for a holiday stay in IOW.
(As an addendum: For a one of a kind, quirky, amusing experience - in it's final year(!), you might consider visiting the Waltzing Waters on a rainy day. It's hard to describe, but somewhere between Disney/Las Vagas meets Rhyde Council, with music volumes just enough at health and safety levels to not have quite the impact intended, in a slightly damp, musty smelling and cold theatre. Somewhere between very entertaining and truly terrible - a perfect balance or corny.)
This is the second cottage we have stayed in booked through West Wight Cottages. The booking process is so straight forward and communication is quick and easy.
The cottage itself is perfect, so peaceful and just like staying at home. It has everything you could need in clean, tidy surroundings. I'm so sad to be back home and to reality now.
I contacted Teresa as I realised my Son had left his much loved Monkey toy behind, it has been posted back to us at no cost. Excellent customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend and can't wait to return in the future.
Thank you so much for being so accommodating! We loved it; the home was quaint and had such a lovely homely feeling with everything we could have needed! You were so wonderfully helpful with the ferries too and we could not have asked for more! We loved how quiet it was and my mum could not get over however beautifully you have decorated you home! We will definitely book again and would recommend it to anyone! Ps the location is perfect too!
We stayed at Tanners for four nights in October. We found Tanners to be a lovely, well equipped house and the ideal base to explore the Island. It is easy to walk into Yarmouth from the house (a beautiful walk along the seafront) where we found plenty of places to eat. We will definitely come again.

Clean, tidy , cosy - what more do you need . A great location within an easy walk of Yarmouth and good access to the rest of the island. Should have stayed longer!!
Beautiful bungalow on a very quiet private estate, the owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Shall definitely go back.
