“Great Find!”
Reviewed 13 August 2012

Arrived in Yarmouth by boa tand had no access to internet so took a chance as liked look of menu. Place doesn't look much from outside but the food & service were outstanding. The paella made with cous -cous was innovative & fish pie packed with large prawn, fish pieces etc, not a all mean as is often the case. Were given pretty scallop shell shaped bread rolls & the only thing we could suggest is that these would have been nicer if warm but really not an issue. All in all a really lovely, unstuffy fresh fish restaurant.

“Very average indeed.”

We ate here once as we were only in Yarmouth for the day and maybe it is not fair to judge them on a light lunch (sandwiches and a drink), but I think no matter what you order you should receive the same level of service. The place itself is dark and aiming for "shabby-chic" - well, I guess they were half way there in that they achieved the shabby bit. We were given a drafty table by the door ( this was a cold showery day) and our drinks came fairly quickly along with some just about clean cutlery. Then not a lot happened... all the staff seemd to migrate to the rear(warmer) end of the restaurant. Our sandwiches did eventually arrive after waiting over 30 minutes. I actually overheard one of the waiting staff ask her colleague "Is that table by the door is still waiting for their sandwiches?" .. well, yes we were . When they did eventually arrive they were quite tasty, well presented and came with a nice side salad. I suspect that this is a different place in the evening when you have loads of time and are happy to sit and nurse a bottle or two of wine, but for lunchtimes I would give it a miss. There are loads of other places to eat lunch in Yarmouth that all look better than this one.

We went twice to this pleasant restaurant, child friendly with imaginative dishes, good variety all freshly cooked and good value.

a party of six, we got a taxi over from Cowes on the back of a friend's recommendation. Food was just about OK - mackerel hadn't been cleaned thoroughly so tasted a bit gamey but bass was well done....the trouble was that we were stitched up £9.00 for two small baskets of bread! On questioning this we were told that the bread that came with our starter mackerel was included but the refill we asked for was £1.50 each.
We had spent over £250 and they didnt relent.
In my book that is stupid, mean and unforgivable.
Maybe the locals already knew this because apart from another small table of two we were alone with these mean people in their miserable place.
