I stayed here with a friend, my daughter and her boyfriend. The cottage is delightful! Has all the mod cons you would want. Fantastic views [ especially from the hot tub!]. The local walks and local pubs amazing, would definitely stay here again. Unfortunately the shower broke during our stay, Nigel fixed this promptly.

“Tranquil haven with a view to die for.”
Reviewed 4 February 2015 for a stay in December 2014

This was our second stay and it completely lived up to expectations.
Fantastic location on the edge of the estuary with the sound of the bird calls echoing across the water in the mornings. A vast super comfortable bed from which you enjoy the views with fresh coffee and a hot tub for a sunset glass (or 2) of wine. A peaceful paradise.
The hosts were super hospitable and had even put up a Christmas tree for our stay.
Well equiped inside and out with a good freeview TV and perfect wifi connection for the kids.
Will definately be returning and might try the Airstream next time.

“Great last minute stay for the New Year”
Reviewed 9 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We found this place last minute online as we fancied escaping home and going away for new year. The boathouse is very well situated overlooking the river yar and is a five minute walk into Yarmouth for shops, pubs, restaurants etc. The view is lovely from the garden and is close to many walks along the causeway and further afield. I can only imagine how nice it would be sat in the hot tub overlooking the river in the summer, but we still enjoyed it even in the drizzle and wind and cold of the winter! We took both dogs and young children- the dogs loved the garden, the perfect size and enjoyed being close to so many great walks! The children were very settled in their own bedroom and the house was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We would certainly return here given a chance I would definitely recommend this to anybody either for a quiet hideaway or family holiday any time of the year!

“What a view, what a place”

As mentioned by many others, the view, the hot tub, the facilities and the owners are all superb! We had a wonderful time with my 2 young children (despite the weather). It is so peaceful and calm there which makes it the perfect escape from the craziness that is our lives in London. It had all the equipment we needed and its really nicely furnished (the bed is massive!). The Hot Tub is a huge bonus as well. There was a powercut when we were there due to a storm (only lasted 2 hours) and the owners came round with coffee and breakfast which was a really nice touch. Thoroughly recommended!

“In the best position we've ever stayed”
Reviewed 3 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We travelled as a couple for my husbands 60th birthday. We arrived slightly earlier than planned due to getting an earlier ferry than booked as we made good time on the motorway. Nigel, the owner was there to meet us at the property and most friendly and welcoming. The property was fully equipped with everything you would need for a self catering holiday, but I must admit, we only cooked breakfast. To sit in the most comfortable bed with a cup of tea, or in the hot tub with a glass of wine or G&T, with the fantastic view over the estuary during the day or at sunset was an amazing experience. We were promised big skies and that was indeed what we had!
There were a couple of niggles, inconsistent Wi-fi connection, uncomfortable sofa and poor pathway from the gate to the decking. But having spoken to Nigel, he already has these in hand for improvement.
Yarmouth itself has numerous eateries and we usually frequented The Kings Head, The Bugle, Off The Rails and The Blue Crab for evening meals when eating in Yarmouth. The Pier Cafe on the promenade at Totland Bay also had a Friday special of fish and chips £2.00 cheaper than normal week prices. Also don't miss a cream tea at the Old Battery Cafe at the top of The Needles. The scones are delish. And try the boathouse style cafe between St Helens and Bembridge where fresh fish was always on the menu.
We would recommend buying a 7 day bus pass for £24 if you plan to travel around. Good value and a relaxing way to travel and enjoy the sights. We found all the drivers very friendly and helpful. We only used the car for the last 2 days of our 2 week stay.
Overall, we had a excellent holiday and would definitely stay again.

“Late summer delight”

This was our second stay at the Boathouse and we did enjoy a relaxing week with lovely weather. I have deliberated over the rating. Nearly everyone seems to give five stars and if I was just reviewing the location then it would be five for me too. However with the exception of the wonderfully comfortable bed I do not think the rest of the furnishings are really quite good enough. The garden needs attention, the shower room is very small, and seating would certainly not be adequate for the six people they claim could be accommodated. Also it is not cheap! Obviously reviews are subjective and the very nice owner has no trouble letting the property so maybe I am too picky! Yarmouth is a great place to visit and there are lots of good restaurants too. We self catered quite a lot and the cooking facilities are fine.

“fantasti, so accomodating”

Can't recommend this place enough, the owners were so friendly and accommodating, every need catered for in this beautifully furnished, amazing views bathhouse. Couldn't wish for a better more reasonably priced holiday. Definitely one to recommend.
