We dined here on our first night in Yarmouth. It was a sunny evening and we sat in the pretty courtyard with the dog. The staff were very friendly and curteous and there was a very good choice of fish on the menu. When it arrived - wow what massive portions and it was really delicious and perfectly cooked. Made for a really enjoyable start to our holiday.

Set in the picturesque town of Yarmouth, The Bugle is an old coaching inn. The bar area and garden are spacious. Good value for a night of B & B and breakfast was good although coffee was insipid. Recommended and we will return.

On the down side........

WiFi was dreadful. Room 1 had no shower only a bath, odd as there was plenty of space for one. One irritant is the food in the restaurant. It's nice and tasty but there's just too much of it. We hate wasting food. Reducing the portions would be a great idea, it isn't a Hungry Horse after all! And finally, it should surprise no-one that my bottom is round. Therefore the square toilet seat in our bathroom, however stylish, did not work for me. At all.

Arrived in Yarmouth at 7.30 on Friday night with an unexpected party of 10. As we were prepared to sit at more than one table, the waitress instantly installed us all in the Coffee Lounge. Good choice of real ales, also fizzy Vimto on tap, which made one of the party's evening. Good food in substantial portions arrived quickly - like most island pubs, it's an order at the bar arrangement, but the waitress brought a drinks order through for us as the food had arrived and she didn't want it to get cold while we were ferrying drinks.

The fish and chips and steak were especially commended, also the puddings. They also had a live band...I thought they were good.

Decided on a day trip to the island but stupidly didn't realise it was the festival weekend. After an extremely crowded ferry trip and traffic delays, it was wonderful to chill out at the Bugle with excellent food and friendly service. The food arrived quickly and the young chap serving and clearing the tables was charming and efficient - well done!
