I was feeling sentimental about a holiday I had in England 5 years ago and decided to take a walk down memory lane and google the b&b we loved the most - Church Gates in Cranbrook. I was so excited to see it is still flourishing and that David and Joe are still running one of the most hospitable and pretty b&bs in England.
When we had our first "breakfast" at Church Gates I warned my family and friends (rightly, as it happened) not to expect this service and quality of food in any of the other b&bs we had booked into during our holiday. The meal was sumptuous, the decor unforgettable, and the hosts jovial and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for more.
The bedrooms were cosy and comfortable and I loved the fact that there were lots of books to read while I was snuggled up in bed at night.
Oh, and that bathroom. I can still remember soaking in the bath after a long day sightseeing and feeling really pampered.
As travellers from "Down Under", Church Gates embodied everything that we love about England, and from the reviews, it is clearly still providing a service that is head and shoulders above the rest.
Well done Joe and David.
And, thankyou for having a great website that I could "google" and reminisce over my wonderful time in Cranbrook and, in particular, at Church Gates. (Sorry I had to put my date of stay as June 2010. The website didnt cater for "old" satisfied customers who had stayed at Church Gates more than 12 months ago, and it wouldnt let me submit my review unless I put in one of the dates listed.)
