“Great Food”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Visited on Saturday evening for our 12th wedding anniversary, food is amazing, lovely warm bread rolls, a choice of salted or non salted butter, a complimentary jug of water (I will not pay for bottled so nice not to have to ask for tap water)

I had the chicken livers, followed by the Lamb then the Mango dessert all faultless, my husband had the Crab & Foie Gras, then the John Dory and Chocolate mouse for dessert he to said his meal was faultless.

Good wine list at fair prices and a 5 or six dessert wines by the glass.

Petit Fours are wonderful shame I can not say the same about the coffee, I had decaff Husband the full caff version we both agreed it was weak and watery such a shame as the rest of the meal was so good.

Staff are friendly and attentive, the restaurant its self is nice but we felt it could do with a bit more color as it felt a little stark.

“Sublime”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

A peaceful and relaxing atmosphere that is supported by a polite request to switch off mobiles phones...joy and no music, just gentle chatter of fellow diners. We were in a party of 6 and after each course every plate was clear. We fought over the desserts! The food is elegantly portioned, fresh, sophisticated and absolutely delicious. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and will go back soon. This is a £50 per head meal with one bottle of wine so not cheap but worth every penny.

“A lovely treat for our friends (and us of course)”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

Took friends here for lunch. Lovely warm welcome and the approach from the staff immediately put everyone at their ease. Faith, the joint owner was both funny and informative. The Brixham crab boudin with seared foie gras, pickled radish & apple puree was gorgeous. My husband said the pan fried confiet chicken livers, girolles, broad beans, pancetta & pickled onions was delicious. One friend was vegetarian and was highly delighted by the black truffle linguini. The confit of pork, and the rabbit was also impressive. The glazed milk chocolate torte was lovely accompanied by some unusual flavours in the basil ice cream, and compressed watermelon gazpacho. The coffee was served with scrumptious petits fours. This was a very very enjoyable lunch.

“Gastronomic excellence”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

As a birthday treat this was superb. We both had the £40 three course dinner, and every course was a delight and full of many flavours, as so many other diners have recorded. The experience was greatly enhanced by the charming care we received from the owner and her young colleague. We shall definitely return when we next visit Kent.

“A very excellent lunch indeed!”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

I took my Mum here for Mothering Sunday, and we had a really lovely meal as usual with Faith on form as normal. To start we both went for the crab which was both delicate and tasty, we followed that with the rabbit which was very sweet and tender. We weren't going to order a pudding as we were both very full but there was a very unusual choice of ricotta cannelloni which was out of this world. The cannelloni was in fact sweet and it was a solid brandy snap but without the brandy and it was filled with ricotta and it was laid on a bed of celery, grapes and candied walnuts and topped with olive ice cream. It tasted truly amazing and it was a totally new flavour for our palates.

The pudding was amazing and the highlight as it was a totally different and inspiring course.
